I've been using these on various vehicles for 13 years with excellent results. Never a leak. Easy to use. One thing is they are longer than a standard drain bolt so make sure it will not protrude below the frame of your vehicle.

I have 3 of these on 3 different cars now - couldn't be happier. The build quality on all are excellent. Smooth actuation and a positive stop/lock in the closed position. Tool free oil changes in less than 10 minutes - what more can you ask for? All 3 valves have sealed perfectly to the oil pan and haven't leaked a drop. There's also the added benefit that if/when you slightly overfill, it's super easy to drain the excess back off, and you don't even have to get your hand messy to do it. If you service your own vehicles, this is definitely an upgrade you'll be glad you have.

If you change your own oil, you should definitely consider buying one of these. No more fiddling around trying to find the correct sized wrench or socket, just pop off the retaining clip (if you use one) and flip the lever. Bought one of these for my GTI as well as one for the wife's Mazda, both easy to install and no leaks. Makes an already easy oil change almost trivial. The best part? Not burning my fingers on hot oil trying to move the plug out quickly. Less splashing too. Have these installed on both cars for about a year and a half and no issues :) Seen some reviewers complaining about hang depth underneath the car - this doesn't stick out much further than a standard bolt and my GTI is very low. Never even come close to scraping it on anything. If you share that concern, they make different shapes/orientations for most of their popular fitments so you can have it facing the side of the car rather than down at an angle. Even the standard one can be backed off/tightened a quarter turn to change the angle and still seal without an issue as it includes a gasket.

This is my fourth time slapping a Fumoto valve on my vehicles. This time it went on an FL5 (23 Type R). No clearance issues, easy to install. Do NOT over-torque, follow the instructions properly. Heard of people having issues if they over tighten it. I never had any leak, and it makes oil changes VERY easy!

Update: Talk to Fumoto - they have a new version of the F-106 for the Honda CRV that has a passthrough bolt that goes directly into the pan and the drain valve fits onto that. It looks good and works well, my only concern is the new design has the drain valve hanging down about 1.25" (below the bottom of the oil pan), so I'm a little nervous about hitting it on something. In any case, customer service came through and the new one works fine. The quality of the item is high, it’s well designed and I think would be a real time saver for changing the oil. Having said that, it wouldn’t go into my oil hole due to an obstruction by a muffler mount (2016 Honda CR-V (see pictures). I would have given 5 stars if it had fit but it’s worthy of more than 1-2 stars for quality. I bought this it’s right after I changed the oil last time and was going to put it on this change... having waited 3 months, I’m outside the return/exchange window. I recommend this item but make sure you buy it immediately before you change the oil in case you have problems and need to return it. See attached pictures. Note—I found an extension that may make it work... but I’m concerned about having it protrude too low under a low clearance vehicle where it could hit a rock/ground and dump the oil out... you might be interested in their extension...

I always do my own oil changes. And I was about to order a replacement crush washer for my oil plug when I saw this. This is waaaaaay better than having to yank out the plug while trying not to get oil running down my arm. I have this on a 2014 Jeep GC ecodiesel. I wish I knew about these years ago and I will definitely be using them in the future on my next vehicle. And for what its worth, I've seen knock-offs listed as well, and I think this is a really inexpensive product considering it's made in Japan and great quality.

I have been using these Fumoto drain valves for the past 7 Years on 4 diffrent cars. Even in Canadian winters they do not disappoint. Never leaked or any problems even on lowered cars. Just don’t make them the lowest part of the vehicle or you may have more problems. This one particulary does fit on a 2013 Acura Ilx 2.4l with no adapters required.
