My friend was telling me that she purchased a whole berry wheat and ground her own flour for her bread, she said it weighed so much she was afraid if it fell it might put a whole through her floor, very heavy, so I opted to purchase this flour already ground into a very fine powder, makes a very good flavored bread. I will be ordering again, also I told my friend to buy it.

This is basically 5lbs of flour in a really nice air-tight plastic bucket. In fact, coming from the advertising world myself, I think this is one of those cases where the packaging cost more that the product inside! That said, it's good stuff! Makes great homemade 9-Grain Bread!

I use half and half with bread flour and great flavor. I’m new at bread baking so it comes out a weird shape.

Look I'm no stranger to this kind of bucket, i get horse supplements and bran mash mixes in the same kind of buckets, but this bucket they are using is about impossible to get into with out me using a slip jaw pliers and a hoof nip to get the tab started. Then once you get the long strip off(if you break it off and can't get it restarted use a needle nose pliers to bend the strip upwards and grab it with a second pliers to pry upwards...be aware you'll probably toss flour places if you aren't used to dealing with these recaltrant buckets, the goal is you're breaking the seal and getting the lid off and then you can pry the strip off once the lid's off the bucket) you now have to pry all four of the "ears" upwards to get into the flour. Once you get it, flour smells amazing. Mixes up nicely, makes an amazing smelling loaf of bread(mine is currently proofing) with sourdough starter. Getting the lid back on, you need a rubber mallet to whack it back into place so the "ears" click and its actually closed. I don't know how I'd feel about paying the regular price, I got it on a price drop so I got 2 buckets, lot a frustration for that, plus, kinda high for flour, but my local stores don't carry anything but basic white flour, self rising, bread, and cake flours in stores so I have to shop on line and am at the mercy of pricing...and buckets. :) So Flour 5 stars, Bucket being a pain made it 4 stars. But I can't wait to bake this bread and have some it smells SOOOOO good.
