I've been using various products from Nutricost over the years. They seem to be good quality products, although sometimes you need to check the TYPE of supplement they are using in the product for bio-availability... meaning that your body can actually absorb the supplement and you're not going to just pass it through you into the toilet... or tree line. Their dosages are usually a bit strange and off as well. In this example, Berberine at a 1200mg single dose is absolutely absurd. 1,200 mg hits your AMPK pathway and glucose uptake hard all at once. You will get a steep blood sugar drop roughly 1–2 hours after dosing. On its own, this can mean fatigue, brain fog, shakiness, and irritability. Berberine is harsh on the gut in large single doses. A 1,200 mg dose at once, you're likely looking at some nausea, cramping, and possible diarrhea for a significant portion of people. It's one of the most commonly reported reasons people abandon berberine supplementation entirely — the GI side effects at high single doses are well documented. Additionally, berberine's half-life is 4–6 hours, so a 1,200 mg dose floods the system, peaks, then clears before your next meal cycle even begins. You get a spike-and-crash pharmacokinetic profile instead of sustained AMPK activation across the day. For instance, I put 2/3 of a capsule into 3 smaller capsules, then you have your 400mg doses to take at breakfast, lunch and dinner… or if you have a snack that is high in carbs/sugar, that’s definitely the best time to take it. Take WITH meals/snacks! The 400 mg three times daily protocol directly solves three issues: consistent coverage, manageable gut load per dose, and no hypoglycemic spike. It's the dosing schedule used in most of the clinical trials that demonstrated berberine's efficacy. For anyone who's struggled with this supplement, I want to point out that the dosage is probably what's causing your issues, not the product itself. And Nutricost — if you're listening — a 400mg capsule option would go a long way toward making this easier for all of us.

I highly recommend this product to help lose weight and other health benefits. I have been taking it for about two weeks and I can tell it has helped with the reduction of inflammation, bloating and water weight elimination. And to my surprise my blood pressure and heart rate have been in the normal range withoutany of my medication, as I check it daily. It keeps you from feeling hungry. I take one in the morning around 7am. Skip breakfast and eat a light lunch, if feeling a little hungry. Then take another pill at 3pm. And then around 6pm I have something light like a salad. I also read that it can help lower cholesterol, we will see. I plan to continue taking taking it for a while and see how my labs look. I hope this helps

I have been taking this for a week now and I have noticed a decrease in cravings. I struggle with sugar. I absolutely LOVE my sweets...cake, muffins, chocolate, powdered donuts, cereal...mostly before bed I need my sweet snack. After a week, I am no longer craving sweets. I take one pill about 30 mins before my first meal of the day and 30 minutes before dinner. I forced myself to eat my first meal of the day which wasn't really a meal just some blue corn chips and salsa and I noticed I ate a fraction of what I normally would eat. I also struggle with portion control. Today was the first day I wasn't hungry for dinner. I am also feeling full when eating a lot less than I am used to eating. I haven't had any digestive issues, or negative side effects. I haven't seen much of a difference in energy but I am also a non coffee/caffiene drinker and I make it through the day just fine. The price of this product compared to others is totally worth it. I feel it is doing exactly what it is supposed to and I am extremely happy with it. Some are saying each capsule is 1200mg, which is incorrect. Each serving is 1200 which is 2 capsules, so each capsule is 600mg. I will update in a month or so with progress. This is not a paid review.

This product did curb my appetite however it accomplished that by slowing my digestive motility.. nothing moves. My normal stools dried up and hardened into marbles. I went from daily BMS to every 3 days. I am sure it affects everyone differently, my experience is constipation.
