Outrageous. Certifiable giant killers.
RTINGS needs to get a review of these up ASAP, because I guarantee they will measure and score ridiculously well. They are one of very few sub-$100 headphones I've tried that require zero EQ to achieve genuinely balanced and accurate sound. Granted, they are not perfect. The mid to high bass is a tad overemphasized, and the high midrange is somewhat distant, making the treble sound slightly overstimulating in comparison. But without a discerning ear, none of these traits stand out negatively whatsoever. And even a seasoned audiophile will admit these are listenable, possibly even pleasant characteristics. For reference, my main desktop headphones are the Samson SR850, another fantastic budget option, and while their sound signature is naturally lively and fun, I can't bear to use them without major EQ for more than ~20 minutes. The treble in particular is pretty disastrous in terms of harshness and fatigue, so I use a tailored AutoEQ preset that brings their response to near ruler flat. The Maono MH700, on the other hand, needs NONE of this to sound fantastic. It's honestly kind of baffling that they managed to pull this off for $40, especially considering the complete lack of compromise elsewhere. For example, the build quality is utterly fantastic. They feel solid and premium in the hand, and the earcups fully articulate to fold up tightly for storage. I'm shocked at how soft and comfortable the earpads are, and how well they mold to the ear. My only gripe with the fit is that the very top of the headband does press against my head, but this is cherry picking and does not lead to any significant discomfort long-term. Oh, and the detachable cables / ports! There's two jacks, one on each side of the headphones, and one for each type of port (3.5mm & 6mm). Two included cables - one is coiled and both are soft-touch and excellent quality. Also there's a nice, very portable carrying bag. Good grief! I sure wish these were available back when I was in high school. I spent much more on much, much worse headphones, most of which ended up in the garbage. These are an absolute no-brainer for a huge swath of consumers, and are more than adequate for modest audio engineers, DJs, and the like. Three thumbs up!

Good budget choice!
Very standard over-ear headphones in terms of sound quality, you get what you pay for. The cables it comes with are a tad annoying, but they're very thick and durable. Comfort is great, it's not too tight even on my big head. Build quality is superb.

Great Value
You can beat the clarity and sound quality for the price. Oh, and comfort! I have worn these working hours on a project, or two. I have used more expensive headphones, but comfort, for long hours is important. I have also gifted a few pairs to band mates. They were quite happy after using them. In a side note, I have a large head, yes I wear a size 8 hat. These work great for normal sized heads and large ones too! I will definitely buy again!

Great for a tight budget but needs eq tuning.
I seen another review talking about the frequency response of these. They are absolutely right about how these sound. At first it seemed like I was almost listening to a tin can from the “clarity” that has overwhelming peaks in the highs. The mids are also scooped out and the bass is a little weak. If you use an equalizer to flatten out the frequencies, these are actually quite amazing! Thanks to the person that has a frequency chart posted in the reviews, it was easy toning down the peaks and boosting the dips. If you decide to buy these, look up Equalizer APO. I don’t know if it works for iOS, android, or Mac, I only know it works for Windows. There’s videos on how to download it and its counterpart up on YouTube. There’s almost no delay in the output, which is great for recording vocals, gaming, or anything that needs the least delay possible. The headphones feel nice on my head but after a while it does have a bit of pressure on my ears. The ear cups are really soft and the adjustment is just what I was looking for! In summary, I would say if you’re on a super tight budget like I was, you should get them. Equalizer APO is a free equalizer as of now, so it’s worth the extra tuning. If you have a bigger budget though, I’d say there might be some better ones that don’t need an eq. I’d say in all it’s good for it’s value though, it’s almost got a premium feel with good comfort and acceptable sound quality before eq. Also here’s a picture of my eq settings to use, adjust to your liking!
