Easy preparation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scrumptious favorite! *by J***N on November 17, 2025* I never really liked rice until I had chicken fried rice from a restaurant because my family never cooked rice much and only cooked white rice in boring ways and it was so blah. After having chicken fried rice I decided I wanted to try rice different ways so I started cooking it all different ways and discovered just how versatile rice is and Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice is one of my very favorites! I just had a hankering for it and was preparing my dinner and had a couple friends invite themselves to my two person dinner so I just added some extra brown Minute Rice, canned tomatoes and pinto beans all Amazon’s own brand and doctored it up with some spices and extra turkey sausage and everyone wanted to know who delivered such a wonderful meal so quickly because I’ve been so ill lately and they knew I haven’t been up for serious cooking but it was so easy a kid really could have made this! I used their basic flavors and just added some of my own from Amazon brand and these days we really have to stretch everything and Amazon’s brand’s are wonderful for that and more! This turned out to be a huge meal that was scrumptious with no leftovers!! I couldn’t believe we ate it all, we didn’t even want dessert because this was just too good to stop eating! I’ve been ill for a long time now and I rarely eat much at all but I truly enjoyed this meal and it was so delicious I didn’t need to drink my meal this day and I was sort of hoping for those leftovers but the greatest compliment a cook can receive is no leftovers so I felt good with the compliment and glad that everyone had full, happy belly’s that day! I mean that’s why we love to cook, right?!! And Zatarain’s is my go to when I want something to pick myself up and Red Beans and Rice is my favorite! And the price is amazing, you can’t go wrong! If you’re worried about sodium content just use seasonings that are salt free powders or salt free natural seasonings that say they are salt free and you should be fine.
