### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ZIOC 23.62” (600mm) drain is intelligently designed and much more solid than expected.
*by Y***U on October 2, 2019*

Do I recommend the ZIOC 23.62” (600mm) drain? YesWould I buy the ZIOC 23.62” (600mm) drain again? YesI paid $53.99 (promotional price) for the ZIOC drain but it’s well worth the normal price of $59.99DRAIN BODYThe drain itself is rigid and felt much more solid than I expected. It is easily as solid feeling as the Infinity drain. Its design incorporates a folded edge (welded into place) that doubles it’s thickness in critical areas and improves the overall appearance. See below for a description of this. The body is made of 304 stainless and its measured thickness was found to be 0.0415" which equates to 19 gauge stainless. Note, I used magnetic testing to confirm the material was stainless. The overall construction and especially the corner welds looked good and should resist corrosion.Mounting and leveling was easy. You will probably need the rubber drain-pipe adapter as others have pointed out and I got mine at Lowes for about $6.The plumbing was also easy. I just used a standard Otey #43211 drain collar ($7 at Lowes) with clamping plate and this gave me the ability to adjust the height and sealed well to my membrane. The two mounting feet (one at each end) seem fine and more than adequate to level the drain body. The feet (disks) are made of plastic and can be turned easily to adjust height. They attach to the body by means of a 1/4-20 bolt and "Z" bracket which are both galvanized. There was no picture of the feet on the included instruction sheet but I had no trouble figuring out how to set them up. It looks like they could be mounted to the floor but I saw no need for this since the entire assembly would be encased in the mortar bed and I didn't want unnecessary perforations in my membrane. The body does not have much internal slope so I tested extensively to make absolutely sure that it would drain completely. It did not but less than 1/2 tablespoon (measured) of water was ever left in the body and it evaporated quickly. I repeated this test numerous times and results were consistent so I’m not worried. Any drain will have a little residual water. The manufacturer could add some internal slope (like the Infinity drain has) but this is an extremely fine point and is more for perceptions because testing showed that it is not really a problem at all.DRAIN COVERLike the body, the overall construction and especially the corner welds looked good and should resist corrosion. The drain cover is made of 304 stainless and its measured thickness was found to be 0.037" which equates to 20 gauge stainless. The walls are folded over making them twice as thick in critical areas and making the cover very strong. The design is quite simple and robust. The cover does not have any holes or perforations like the infinity did but this makes it stronger and it should work just fine if the solid stainless look suits you. Water drains fine around the edges.I especially liked the way the cover is designed to allow either tile-in or a metallic look by simply flipping it over and repositioning the plastic feet to the other side. I did not have to buy an expensive tile-in cover separately.I am using a popular 2" square floor tile since smaller tiles are better suited to follow any contours in my floor. Practically all other drains with a tile-in option (including the infinity drain) will require the installer to hand cut tiles especially to fit the drain cover but in this case, the tile-in cover (which measures 1.90" inside width) is perfect for the very common floor tiles I will be using. These tiles are called "2-inch" but they actually measure to be 1.89" so they fit in this tray perfectly. The drain cover rests solidly on plastic feet that clip onto the drain cover. I was worried that these might break after a few years and be difficult to replace. They are designed in a very simple way that makes them very solid and ensures that the cover sits in the center of the drain body and will not lift up if you step on one side. They work well and should last. I couldn't tell for sure if they were made of ABS or black PVC or some other material but they appear to be ABS and they also appear to be 3D printed. That might not be the case, but it would be very easy to replace them this way. Don't decide that the feet are cheap when you read this. 3D printers are easy to find and I really like knowing that they’re so simple that I could easily get replacements printed (or print them myself!) very cheaply if I ever needed to. I consider the simplicity of the feet to be a plus. Other drains use metal screws that rest on the metal body and would cause abrasion and/or instability whenever the drain is stepped on. My shower requires me to put the drain near the center and not against a wall so I was concerned about it being stepped on. I also felt like there would be a tendency for the other designs to lift up if you stepped on one end due to the way the screws are positioned. This drain will not have these problems. Note that the Infinity drain doesn’t have this problem either. The feet used here are not height adjustable (neither are the feet on the Infinity drain). Again, this is a good design. Disclosure: The seller agreed to provide extra feet to me at no charge just in case I need them in the future. But after a hands-on inspection of the ZIOC drain, I’m not worried about them anymore.STRAINERThe strainer basket is essentially a perforated cup 1.83" tall that sits down inside the drain pipe. I like this style better than the HS-2 hair strainer that the Infinity drain uses because you won't have to empty it as often but both are good solutions. Some drains I looked at used 2 short fences in the drain body to trap hair in the arms and I didn't like this method. The strainer is 1.68" in diameter and has a rim that is 2.15" in diameter that prevents it from falling down inside the drain pipe. It’s just like a miniature version of the basket in a pool skimmer. Overall, its construction appeared cheap and it looked like chrome rather than stainless. Even more critically, the sides were constructed by wrapping a flat sheet into a cylinder shape and spot-welding it into this position. There are 4 spot-welds down the side where the material overlaps. Since this strainer basket is so easy to remove/replace, I decided to ignore my instincts and give the strainer a chance. The ZIOC strainer looks very similar to the one-piece strainers included with other high-priced drains but the 3-piece construction of the ZIOC strainer is not nearly as good. I also think a plastic strainer would work well. TO THE MANUFACTURER: YOU SHOULD WORK TO IMPROVE THIS ASPECT OF THE PRODUCTTHE GOOD1. The best feature HANDS-DOWN is the fact that the drain hole is NOT IN THE CENTER. If you’re installing into new construction, it’s no problem to locate the drain wherever you want so this drain will work well for new construction. But the off-center drain hole also opens up many options if you're doing a remodel or if you've got a floor joist in the way, etc. I have a concrete slab with the drain pipe near the center and sure, I could chisel out the concrete, install a couple of elbows in the drain line and relocate it. But even if that wasn't a lot of work, I'd still have the added complexity of getting around those two corners if I ever needed to snake the drain out later. I liked the straight-down access this drain gives me and that it lets me easily hide the fact that my drain hole is off-center. The big guys are almost all missing this point. Infinity does offer a (plastic body) drain with arms you can cut-to-fit and glue on but it has a price tag of $750 for something comparable to this. Yes, that's right $750 for plastic and glue!2. The metal body Infinity drains cost $1500 on average and although I can pay that much for a drain, I'm very happy that I don't have to. I paid $54 (promotional price) for this drain and I think it's worth mentioning that the seller was forthcoming with information, helpful and had good communication. It’s well worth the regular price of $60. The Infinity drain is usually not stocked by local dealers so you'll probably have to order it (eg. prepay and then wait 2 to 4 weeks) just to take a look. Then it's subject to a 20% restocking fee if you don't like it! This drain costs LESS than the restocking fee and it's returnable on Amazon. This should be a wakeup call for the local dealers!3. The design is good, it feels very solid, and they were smart about the dimensions. It will be easy to install and I won't have to adapt everything else to accommodate this drain.4. The seller has good communication5. I think this drain will be long-lasting and easy to serviceTHE BADThere is nothing that is actually "bad" about the ZIOC 23.62” (600mm) drain. The items below are minor and I've decided to install this drain in my shower. This section simply addresses questions people might have and makes suggestions to the supplier.1. The hair strainer basket is probably not going to hold up forever. I would like to see either a well-made 1-piece stainless steel option or possibly even a simple plastic one. I’m going to give it a chance but I’ve decided that I’m willing to deal with this if and when it ever becomes a problem.2. Internal slopping (for drainage) of the drain body could be slightly improved but I don't see any problem with the current design. Don’t let this worry you. If it’s level, it will drain.3. The included instruction sheet needs improvement in order to show just how versatile the installation options really are. This drain is easy to install and the instruction sheet doesn't do a good job of communicating that.OTHERThis drain (both the cover and the body) use thinner (higher gauge) metal than the Infinity but here's why that doesn't matter. The body is fully supported by the mortar bed (in both cases) which reinforces it. The edges of this body are folded over and down and then welded into place. This essentially doubles the thickness of the top portion of the walls (0.4" down from top edge) and makes it very strong. It also produces a nicely rounded top edge that faces upward so that you don’t see a cut (eg sharp) thin edge of the body metal when you look down at it.Infinity uses a thicker gauge material for the cover (16g for perforated) because their design requires it. Wire and perforated designs are inherently weaker. Infinity uses a 16g perforated metal cover. The 20g ZIOC cover has no perforations so, depending on the pattern of the perforations in the Infinity you're comparing it to, this one is just as strong and probably even stronger. I do not expect it to deform when stepped on but will update this review if it does. If you like a perforated pattern of drain holes, then this product doesn’t offer any options. If you want a tile-in drain cover, then the wider the cover is, the more strength it will need in order to prevent bowing or deforming when stepped on. Since this cover is so well supported and is not as wide as most other designs, it should hold up very well. If you like the tile-in look (as I do) then this is an excellent option and it’s very strong.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to lift and clean
*by G***. on July 4, 2023*

The top pan has plastic clips at the bottom that keep it off of the lower pan surface. This makes it very easy to lift out and clean. Its a very sleek design for any type of floor drain needs. I used these for basement floor drains to get rid of the ugly round type that were originally in the floor. Took a grinder to notch the floor to the shape of the drain, then just chipped out the concrete and recemented in place with a little sand mortar mix from the hardware store. Filled in the top pan with the same mortar mix. Boom, done.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High Quality Stainless Steel that is well made and designed to near perfection - fit like a glove...
*by T***A on December 30, 2016*

This is an excellent floor drain - I searched for weeks at Lowes, Home Depot and on line before deciding on this linear drain. It was the only reasonably priced offset drain - because the price was about half what local stores wanted for these, I was skeptical it might be subpar quality and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box - very solidly built and excellent quality stainless steel - all parts fit like a glove and I ordered the Luxe sleeve to interface with my floor drain - fit perfectly - even my tile guy, who installed it, wanted to know where I got it - looked so nice he wanted to take a picture to show other clients - much much more visually appealing than a standard round floor drain - everyone who sees it comments on it.(see attached photo)The only suggestion I would make to ZOIC is to add an adjustable "foot" on the opposite end of their offset drains - we had to use sackrete to set the pitch just right (center drain this would not be a problem) - an adjustable foot would make the installation just a tad easier but for this price and quality, it was merely a small inconvenience.
