PayPal PCTUSDCRT Chip and Tap Reader Black

An inexpensive way to speed up the checkout process at an event. It took less than 5 minutes to load, link and become operational.

Product works great with my LG Android. Didn't work so well with the one iPhone I tried, but it wasn't my phone, so I'm still giving 5 stars.

The device would automatically shut itself off in between payments (5-15 min between each). And it wasn't easy to turn back on: the power button doesn't work with just a quick press, and a long press...? Never did figure it out. But I hate that I had to constantly re-boot it for each customer. I found I was spending more time trying to make the thing work than taking care of my clients-- I was LOSING money because I was fiddling with the reader to keep it online and going. This was in the middle of town, there were no data/connectivity issues. Of course my trial run at home worked fine-- one transaction, all is well, great. But in the field... The Reader just kept turning itself off and doesn't turn-on and connect again very easily. I couldn't find any info on this matter in the manual and when I called the next day, the tech support was NOT HELPFUL-- the guy was offering politeness and NOTHING else. He didn't have a clue (even though after I'd tell him all of the above; he'd repeat a very general, unhelpful summary of what I said, "SO, I hear you're having problems with your device, what can I do to help you, ma'am?" ...and never seemed to get the specifics or try to help and ended up hanging up on me! I am returning it now.

It was so easy to use once it was charged, I did a craft show and it is nice to be able to take credit cards.

This PayPal chip and tap reader is easy to set up once you are logged into your paypal business account on your phone or iPad. Unfortunately you cannot use this item with a computer terminal from my understanding but the app is the easiest way to use the card reader anyway. You may want to keep the manual handy to reference the different types of indicator light combinations. There is only one indicator light and it tells you what it’s doing based on what color light is on and how it flashes. I do wish there were a couple indicator lights on the unit that displayed power and another for transaction status instead of sharing one light as it does currently.

I had the small Pay Pal Card Reader and it was constantly dropping signal and locking up while trying to read Customers Card. Needed to have Apple Pay. This has it all and works fantastically! Worth.the price!!

Super easy to set up and use and I love that I can use the PayPal account I already have so it's one less account to remember!

Still having trouble getting it to work. Sometimes it will work and then next time it does not??
