The power boost works as advertised - my mic requires it. I adjust the gain using the control on the Polson to get the right sound for the listener. The pictures show my complete setup with my mic and earpiece plugged into the Polson. Review: Needs improvement and barely does the job. - Missing and on/off button and gain doesn't do much at all on max but otherwise it's reliable and works.. honestly I'm going to return because at max gain it still can't pick me up without being very close. What is the device's maximum gain?** A: While I don't know the maximum gain available and I don't see that number anywhere, I use this interface with my computer on Zoom, I connect to my iPhone and use it to record speakers using a lav mic. It works and works well. **Q: Is it possible to 1)record the mic sound into a dslr camera and 2) monitoring the sound at the same time, using the polsen xlr-usb-48?** A: There is a headphone jack on it. I don't use DSLR cameras to record so I can't confirm that you can do both. I would monitor the sound through the camera headphone jack. **Q: I can see that the microphone is getting to windows 10 through this, but i can't get the audio to play (48v is on). ideas?** A: I had this problem at first, too. There were three parts to solving this for me. First, I did not have the 3.5mm audio-out plug pushed completely into the Polsen. When I pushed much harder, it "clicked" when the plug went in completely. Second, I was using this with Zoom and noticed I had not selected the "USB" speaker, so the output sound was not being directed to the Polsen but instead was going to my computer speaker. Third, I had the volume on the Polson for the 3.5mm jack turned down to the lowest setting. Use the "Hi" & "Lo" arrows located near the 3.5mm jack and make sure the volume is turned up. After doing these three things I now get sound from the 3.5mm jack which, in my case, goes to an ear plug.
