Great taste! Super flavor enhancement!
Great flavor profile! I know this because I tasted it and it amazingly tastes like beef. Incredibly expensive as a 100% replacement which makes it prohibitive for the common people, but used as a 15% ingredient is completely affordable. I use 1 can per month, making $5 a can feasible. This delicious vegan lentil-based recipe is a wonderful flavor enhancement for the vet-approved homemade chicken wet food that I make every 3-4 months. The lentil wet food constitutes 15% of the chicken wet food which I blend into the batch in my food processor and then create plastic-wrapped rolls similar to cheese logs that last for 3-4 days thus preventing spoilage and ensuring fresh wet food for each meal. The logs fit vertically into 1/2-gallon Mason jars which are then vacuum-sealed and frozen. I use the excellent Fresko vacuum sealer for this. Since air is the #1 cause of food spoilage, vacuum sealing is the best way to make cat food in batches. I remove one log at a time to thaw, and blend 10% water with a fork into each portion. When the log in use is down to a day’s worth, I put the next frozen log into the fridge to thaw. I bought my first case of this vegan lentil wet cat food as part of a transition plan from animal-protein wet food to a plant-based protein wet food. If the cats accepted this replacement, my plan was to make homemade lentil wet food in place of chicken wet food. I began by blending in a smidge of the lentil wet food to the chicken wet food and both cats enjoyed their meal even more. I gradually increased the lentil wet food to 15% and the kitty acceptance remained satisfactory. However, from further research I am doubtful that cats can safely “go vegan” even with supplementation because they truly are obligate carnivores and lentil protein does not sufficiently provide the true protein they need. My conclusion is that this is a compromise a vegan person needs to make if they want to keep cats. So, this lentil-based cat food will remain of a terrific flavor enhancement. .

Cat hates it
Unfortunately our cat hates it. Sweet idea and everything, but the texture is quite firm with little chunks of carrot, not really like a cat food pate texture. Our cat has been offered it multiple times in combination with other foods she likes, and refuses it completely.

A Surprising Hit with My Cats – Thoughtfully Formulated and Well-Received
I was initially hesitant about introducing a vegan diet to my cats, understanding that felines are obligate carnivores with specific nutritional needs. However, after researching and discovering that Wild Earth's Unicorn Pâté is fortified with essential nutrients like taurine, vitamins A and B12, and omega fatty acids, I decided to give it a try. To my delight, my cats not only accepted the food but seemed to genuinely enjoy it. The pâté's texture and aroma are appealing, and it's reassuring to know that it's formulated to meet AAFCO standards for feline nutrition . While I recognize that vegan diets for cats can be a topic of debate, my personal experience with this product has been positive. It's encouraging to see innovative options that aim to balance animal welfare, environmental concerns, and pet health. I plan to continue monitoring my cats' health and consult with my veterinarian to ensure their dietary needs are fully met. For now, Wild Earth's vegan wet cat food has been a welcome addition to their meal rotation.

This is a pass for my cats, but hope to try again in the future
I have four rescue cats, three elderly guys and a 2 year old little lady. All of them declined this food. I really wanted this to be a hit for my cats to add some variety to their regular carnivore diet. The consistency of the food is like paste and didn’t have an appetizing appearance. I’m still giving it three stars because I believe in the quality of the food and the quality of the company behind it. I have bought the Wild Earth dog kibble as treats for when I walk my neighbor’s dog, and she takes the kibble happily. I hope WE creates more products to which my four cats will be agreeable.

Good for elderly dogs
I got this for my elderly dog to add variety to her meals since she’s been eating the same dog food for a while. We just tried the Wild Earth Golden Rotisserie flavor and she liked that one along with this one. She has no teeth and I’ve tried other wet can food but they usually have a hard time mixing well enough with water but this one mixes well to a consistency that she can easily eat it and she enjoys the taste of it. It also smells similar to regular wet cat food lol hopefully they come out with more flavors!

My Four Cats Would Not Eat It
I have four cats - none of them would eat it. Two of them normally will eat anything. In addition, the food is very dry. I tried mixing it with their regular food and a little water as Wild Earth had suggested, but they still would not eat it. And if you buy it from Amazon, it is not returnable. I am disappointed because the listed ingredients are awesome in the face of the fact that he US Government has ceased or severely reduced poultry, meat, and dairy inspection. I do not want to feed my cats diseased poultry or meat. Reports are that the diseased parts of poultry are going to be cut off and sent to pet food manufacturers and the un-diseased parts will be for human consumption. Elections have consequences!!!

My cats just don't like it
I love the idea, but my cats barely will eat it. Can they fix the recipe? It's pricey to throw out. I have to mix in at least half meat with the vegan food to even entice them! It looks and smells nice to me, but I'm not a cat.

All our cats & rescued kittens love it!!
All our cats love this one, and it's so gentle on their tummies. Even our 3 kitties that we rescued 5 weeks ago, & are now weaning off from formula - are so obsessed with this food. So thankful for kind & nutritionally complete options for them.
