High quality and durability materials
I collect knifes and swords, right out of the box I got extremely excited about the feel of this machete. I had my last camping sword for 8 years before it finally broke. I havenโt even used this thing yet but I can tell you right now this is going to last me a good 20+ years as it is very high quality and thick! The weight is perfectly balanced, I am ridiculously excited to use it- which guys, I am very hard to please with material items. I donโt think most manufacturers and designers make products that are built to last. But this one most certainly is. The case we will have to see about as it goes through the test of time, Iโm assuming at some point the machete will outlive it and I will need to replace with leather or something. Which is fine with me. It seems very sturdy and like it will last for at least 10 years. I am not sure what kind of plastic it is, it seems like it is not prone to cracking. It holds the machete well, ignore reviews saying it is flimsy. There is a bit more room towards the bottom of the sheath but I believe that is for draw purposes. It still holds it in place securely without rattling. I would be shocked if I encountered any issues with it in the first 5 years. I do not think it is overbuilt, I love how many modes of attachment there are. A true backwoods wilderness/ jungle piece of gear. Note that you may need to sharpen it up a bit, the edge looks great, just could be a hair sharper, but no problem for me. Only complaint I have is that there is a bit of โplastic dustโ on the blade after drawing. It would be nice if there was some sort of other material in the sheath where the blade edge runs so that itโs not creating those little shavings. Not a fan of creating more micro plastic pollution, even in such a trace amount. But that will only really bother you if you over analyze everything as I do lol. Overall itโs a 5 star product. I couldnโt be more excited about it, again which is very rare for me to be so pleased with an item.

There are many like it, but this one is mine ; )
I've been taking down a lot of bay trees where I live, doing some fire clearance, needed to get a machete to clear some branches. Originally I bought the 18 inch Gerber gator while I happened to be in rei, made the mistake of not reading some reviews first, destroyed the blade in about a week with light-medium duty use, like many before me. Really surprised me because Gerber has always made great quality stuff. Went back to my dull flea market $5 machete and it held out better then the Gerber, but with it being so light and short, it had no power. Anywho, got my money back from rei and decided I wanted to invest in something...indestructible. I didn't want to have a machete for small branches, then have to switch to an axe or saw for slightly larger branches, I didn't want to carry a pile of tools around with me. I figured there had to be one decent tool out there that could be tough enough for everything I was doing. And this is definitely it. Out of the box it comes sharp and ready to go. This beast was cutting through everything I put in front of it with ease. I was concerned it might be too heavy but for me it's perfect, with great weight distribution. Used this for 3 hours my first go with it, no blisters, my arms were fine, blade was flawless. Next day another 12 hours or so, my arm was starting to get tired after awhile of one handed use but not horribly, blade is still razor sharp. Have always been careful with machetes but just holding this thing the first time gave me a strong desire to be intensely aware of my actions when using it. With some things you think, "hmm if I cut this way I might hit my leg and cut it, I guess I shouldn't do this..... ahh whatever it's not very likely." No. Not with this. If you have any kind of a decent brain in you head you should be getting alarm bells going off saying "hey stupid, if you cut like that and things go wrong YOU WON'T HAVE A LEG ANYMORE. Rethink your positioning." I feel with proper care I could pass this down to my children's children's children lol. If you have any doubt about it's power and abilities there's some video reviews on YouTube that made me feel better about buying it without getting to hold it in my hands first (the dilemma with Internet shopping...). I might add a short video of myself taking out the little 6 1/2 inch thick tree pictured below, if I do I'll come back and link it here. I tip my hat to Condor for making such a high quality product. Update 5/12/16 Had an issue with my sheath, the buttons felt hard to close but thought I was just being a sissy, figured tighter is better then loose and they'd get better with time. Maybe I was wrong because the bottom one broke. I contacted Condor and they express mailed me a new sheath, and this one the buttons feel much better. And many hours of work later I'm still very satisfied with the machete. Update 1/2/2022 Countless hours of use TOUGH use. Absolutely no regrets. Over the last 5+ years I've put this machete through the gamut and it came out the other side flawless. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Good to put oil on the blade after each use to avoid rust.

absolutely mind blowing
The first time you grab a condor machete you say to yourself "O.K. This is a real Machete."The shocking thing about this machete is the thickness and full tang construction. The steel at the butt of the handle might be 1/4 inch thick and tapers down to the tip. I really like Micarta and the scales here are great. if I was to complain about the grip I would have wanted the handle to be a little thicker going up and down near the blade. it is fine going side to side. The back end of the handle is great and the first thing I did was put a para cord lanyard through the eye in the rear of the handle. The sheath is leather stitched and riveted also provides a snug fit. After using several hatchets axes and knives to process wood or going into the woods my favorite all around tool is the machete. I can chop down trees, split logs and also clear thick brush or vines that grow on the ground faster and easier. I have the cutlass and kuhkri by kabar as well as a gerber and some cheaper Machetes. This is a serious no messing around tool. Sharp and durable and the quality is unbelievable. The grind and thickness of the blade make it less prone to getting stuck while chopping or splitting thicker trees or logs. the spine is thick and straight so if you like to baton wood especially thicker wood you are not going to have any problem here. Considering what some high end bushcraft knives go for, this is an absolute steal. Here in the U.S. I think the Idea of a machete is a thin cheap piece of metal. That thought is wrong. This is not a grass machete. It is definitely a chopper. This is on the high end as far as a Machete goes. Condor produces a great line of Machetes. I would have to say if you don't want to spend this much get the Ka bar cutlass. If you have several machetes already and looking for something that is a real hardcore tool. This will not disappoint. For all the people into bushcraft looking for that 1 blade to have if their life depended on it you would probably want to carry this. It is one of those life tools that you beat the crap out of and will still out last you.

Tested and recommended.
Great blade! After recently bending my Gerber on a thick branch, I decided it was time for something greater. I have tested this blade for 6 months. I have cut various small things like tall, thin grass with easy. Itโs a bit on the heavy side, so keep that in mind if you want to take this backpacking. I have batoned with no issues. I have split many pieces of wood that I wouldโve thought would require an axe. The blade is sharp from factory. I clean it after every use, so I havenโt had any rust issues. The length is nice. I wanted the biggest/thickest blade I could get. Really, the next step up from this would be โThe Deuce IIโ from zombietools.com. That blade is also $300 more, so I stuck with this. I am sceptical of the sheath because it seems flimsy for the blade, however, it hasnโt failed me yet. I wish they had made this in 1095, but 1075 is still a very good blade material. The shape makes it easy to sharpen. Overall, I think this is a very good price for what you get.

Great Tool.
I own many blades for many purposes. Some I collect. Some I use. This machete got my attention right out of the box. It is an exceptional tool. The micarta handle is well made. It is not slick like some, but roughened up a bit to give a solid grip. The blade is very sharp. I cut my index finger just touching it, a good sign. Be careful with this beast, it can and will bite you. This tool is well crafted. It is made of 1075 high carbon English steel and will rust if not cared for properly. I clean after each use and apply a thin layer of Japanese Choji Oil before I place it in the sheath. I use this oil on all my high carbon steel blades. It seems to have an almost perfect flexibility in the blade. It will bend but not break or distort. Uncanny really. The sheath, like all of Condors sheaths are among the best quality in the industry. The sheath for this blade is no exception. It has two snaps to secure the blade. Just make sure to rotate the snaps out of the way when inserting the blade. Otherwise you may cut the snaps or yourself. This is no toy, but a serious working tool. It will also work well two handed, although I would see no purpose in that. The price is a bit high for a machete, but well worth the cost if you require the best.

A Fricking BEAST!
A friend off of a blade page on Face book turned me onto this. I camp a lot, and could use a good "Chopper". I usually don't take a heavy blade with me, and later I regret it, I just take an old ax. So I bought one of these, on a whim. I was blown away when I opened the box, and unwrapped the blade. First off, the QUALITY! This thing is built VERY well! It is NOT some thin toy from some cheap manufacturer. This thing IS FOR REAL! It is thick, and heavy for a short blade. The sheath is very nice, thick leather, and very well made. I have only used it around my yard so far, but this damn thing CHOPS through most everything I put it up against. I cannot see carrying this thing in it's sheath through the woods on a long hike/wilderness trip....(Too cumbersome, and heavy), but stashed in a truck for a campsite, and taken out to gather firewood, or clear an area of thick tree limb growth, this thing ROCKS! Heavy SERIOUS chopper. The handle really shines, Mircata, and a "Round" feel to it. This thing was very well thought out. The blade has stayed sharp, (As it came). I may convex it, as time goes by, but how it comes...A SERIOUS TOOL! 100% recommended!

Poor handle shape
Iโve worked this tool for several months now. Overall craftsmanship is great. This machete is just what I needed to cut trails thru thick briars and brush. The length is perfect to keep hands clear of all the thorns. The problem with this tool is that the handle is too thin. When chopping thicker materials it will twist. I found that most times I need to use both hands and one hand must be choked up on the handle. I have a Duku parang that is lighter and shorter that actually performs better. I will purchase a longer parang to replace this machete in my arsenal. BTW- Iโm 6โ 4โ 240 lbs and I wear a XXL glove

Excellent is the only word
This is a great machete. Yes, it's more expensive than others, but it is also far superior to the others. It is solid, strong, heavy, and is easily the best I have ever used. Buy one and see for yourself.

Absolut wertig!
Und das "straight out of the box"!

Beast of a blade!
What can I say about this beast! The warlock is basically a thick heavy parang. Like most Condor products, you will need to spend some time reprofileing the edge as it comes quite obtuse. Once you thin it out a bit, and sharpen it, it will perform chopping and splitting tasks effortlessly. It's a bit on the heavy side to lend itself to machete type chores, but nevertheless it can do them. The handle scales are nice micarta, not too smooth. the long curved shape of the handle allows for a variety of positions and will fit even the largest of hands. The sheath is typical Condor leather (high quality), snap in style which I find superior over their folded pocket style sheaths. Swivel belt loop is very functional. I havnt had the chance to take it out into the backwoods yet, but if you read my other reviews you will see that I can attest to the strength and durability of Condor's 1075 HC steel and heat treatment. If you're looking for a tool that's ready to use out of the box, I would go for the bushcraft parang or the pack golok. If you dont mind putting the time and work into it, then this Warlock is a sweet piece. If you can acquire this for around or under 150. $CA then I say it's worth it.

Beautiful.
It is just a gorgeous machete. Feels very sturdy. It was not too sharp, but I was able to put a razor edge on it pretty easy. The tip was very slightly chipped upon arrival, but it was not a big deal as it disappeared with the sharpening. It would benefit from better packaging. The sheath is very well made.

Messer

Quality product
I am very impressed with the Condor Discord machete. It is alot heavy than your average bushwhacker, the thickness of the blade will definitely stand up to years of abuse. The handle shape and feel is quite comfortable as well.
