How does this compare with the hof mini or hof 2 for an acoustic pedal?

I used to own a HoF 2 but I sold it to buy the RV-6. The HoF 2 is a good pedal, but the RV-6 sounds a little more natural. The HoF 2 has a slightly nicer Shimmer effect, but Boss wins all the other check boxes. The Modulate mode on the RV-6 is just second to none. RV-6 also has a very usable Delay effect.

Does this have dry battery? For air travel is this allowed in checked in or cabin luggage?

It absolutely DOES come with a battery installed. I have about 16 Boss pedals of this size and they all came with a battery installed. It appears to be a cheaper battery and many of them still have the cellophane still wrapped around the lower portion. Boss places batteries in these at the factory to test before sending out. Don't know why some say there is no battery. Maybe they just tried to hit the switch, which is not going to power the unit up without a signal.
