The history of nations in one place. Superb.
This map shows just how fluid national borders have been over the course of history. Puts a lot of the current debate over territorial boundaries in perspective. And it's all in one map. I wouldn't have thought it was possible but they did it and the results are very clear and understandable. And the quality is superb. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by current events I look at this map. It puts it all into historical perspective.

Great for researchers who want to see the big picture
I can understand why some would not rate high, and others high. I am into the high category. My guess is, those who want to see timelines in context to a big picture will value it, use it to do further research. I a studying text books and teaching company courses, and continually stop to reference whether it shows up on this timeline. Often does not, but often does. What I like is one can go vertical and compared the timeline to all the other regions of the world at that time, see what was going everywhere. That was my goal and to that need, five star. Quality is exceptional, I do not worry about spilling coffee or food on it and though in a scroll format, I have learned how to make that an advantage by excluding portions not focused on. I find it amazing the creativity put into it, how the circles are drawn to show the scope of an empire for example expanding and collapsing and being influenced by invaders. I cannot imagine how one can gain a sense of history for 5000 years without this kind of depiction.

Great history summary
Not easy to create this, but I believe this is the best of its kind. So valuable to see a visual like this, seeing all these events at one time. I laminated mine and put on the wall for reference. Perfect.

What a fun way to view world history
I have to say that I have never been a student of history. But, as I read more and follow my curiosity I wanted a way of getting a 50,000 foot view of how events fit together. This presentation of the data is wonderful. I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 star only because it should be twice the size it is. I probably missed seeing the size and I'm still glad I made the purchase, but larger would be better. The map displays what happened, when, the size of the areas correlates to the geographic area involved, there are vectors showing the flow of population migrations and migrations of events. I'm sure that if I thought about it and studied it more I could give you a better review, but it is a good tool and gives fair value for the money spent.

This Big Picture…
…gives you the big picture at a glance. Heavy paper. 👍

A very useful, if embarrassingly eurocentric (and wrong) view of world history
I am not sure if the creators of this map have been outside Europe or the UK, but it is an embarrassingly turn-of-the-century view of what is important and isn't. Woeful. But still, the only map we have of this kind...

Superb attention to detail
An exceptional map with an incredible amount of detail, presented in an easy to understand manner. Covers all continents, and includes historically important but often missed peoples such as Anasazi, Mogollon, Hohokam (misspelled as Hokokam in order to thwart copyright infringers), and Dacia. The Eastern world timeline is thorough and spot on. Truly an impressive product. No history classroom should be without one.

Enlightening
This is my favorite poster. As a lifelong student of ancient history, it shows the breadth and depth of key milestones across time. I would love to see more on the earlier activities. The emergence of Lidar has revealed astonishing civilizations in South and Central America. Love this poster.

I can lose myself in thought just looking at this and being amazed at the course of Human history. The layout of the information presented provokes thought and exploration. The print and poster quality is very good. Would easily get 5 stars but the packaging it came in looked like it was done by a 1st grade child.. Luckily the poor packaging didn't severely damage the poster and the wrinkles and creases came out after a few days mostly. I've framed it and hung it on my wall.

I looked at a number of historical timelines summarized into a single chart and I was impressed by this one. While trying to fit all the world's history onto a manageable single page would seem like a foolish task, this one proved to be the best balance of historical context and size. Rich with information, it gives you the overall context of histories various empires and dynasties. It's the big-picture view we never got on our history classes! Very easy to see which group of people were expanding and which empires were fading, it take a bit of time to wrap your head around how the information is displayed, but once you understand the logic, it becomes a very valuable piece of reference material.
