Great product
The Broan-NuTone AE110 Invent Flex ENERGY STAR Qualified Single-Speed Ventilation Fan has truly made a difference in my home. This sleek white fan not only looks great in any bathroom, but it also performs exceptionally well. With a CFM rating of 110 and a sones rating of just 1.0, it efficiently removes excess moisture and odors, leaving my bathroom feeling fresh and clean. What sets this fan apart is its flexibility. It's easy to install and can be used in various locations throughout the house, not just in the bathroom. The energy-efficient design is a big plus, as it helps save on electricity bills while still delivering powerful ventilation. I've had other ventilation fans before, but the Broan-NuTone AE110 stands out for its performance and reliability. It operates quietly, so it doesn't disrupt the peace and quiet in my home. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this product, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable ventilation solution.

Easy install and fairly quiet
This fan does not have brackets that are anchored into the ceiling joists and slide thru the housing. This housing is screwed directly to the joists which makes for an easier installation IMO. I was replacing a smaller fan do I needed to cut some sheetrock, but I was unable to position the housing where I could use the brackets at designed. I ended up bending one bracket 90 deg and screwing it to a joist. The other bracket is unattached to anything. I then put some screws thru the frame into the joists on two sides and it's very solid. The wiring is very straightforward, but they do not supply any wire nuts which is kind of annoying. I reused the nuts for the white and black wires, but the neutral had been connected to a screw in the previous housing, so I had to go dig up a wire nut to connect the ground. The fan pops in and out of the housing easily. I did have a heck of a time connecting my semi-rigid duct to the outlet. They are both exactly 4", so that ended up being the most aggravating part of the entire install. After I taped up the duct connection, I taped up the gaps between the sheetrock and the housing, installed the cover, and turned on the fan. It's not silent, but it's much quieter than the fan it replaced and not noticeable with any background noise at all. Pros: Easy installation - Screws directly to joists Easy fan removal/install into housing Fairly quiet Cost Cons: No wire nuts or any hardware at all (minor) Fan outlet is exactly 4" as the duct will be. 3.9 inches would have made a significant difference (minor)

Good design - Good operation - Terrible Retro Install
This fan was to replace a 1960 bathroom NuTone fan that failed. Very sadly, a replacement motor wasn't available, but I went with another Broan / NuTone, anyway. After the very laborious install, I was not in mind to give this a good review. It is not easy for a replacement of a retro. Don't expect this to be as easy or an install without access into the attic. When ordering, the 80 CFM fan was not available, so I paid extra for this 110 CFM version. Now for why 4 stars instead of 1. First, the fan-assembly is a sealed unit, which snaps well into the metal housing. It's a good design which should help the longevity and make replacement easy. That is if they keep a replacement forever (shame on them if they don't, since additive manufacturing should allow them to & keep it inexpensive) Secondly, the fan works so well. It is quiet, even though one can hear it to know if it is on. At 110 CFM it really clears out the moisture. I only need about 67 CFM and am happy with the extra umph. As a new install, I would highly recommend this fan. As a replacement, expect a significant job, but know it will be worth the effort. Just really pay attention to details as you install (which fortunately I did). The only other comment is in regards to how the cover is attached - really poor design.

Substantial performance, solid equipment, very quiet.
Just what I wanted: very quiet, good power, easy to install (in our case). We were replacing a noisy one, wanted to avoid too much drywall removal and retention of existing venting. Fortunately were able to use the new unit's installation brackets spacing and found a reducer to connect to existing vent line. Grill fit our space with barely a 1/4" space to nearby wall. The spring-like metal grill connections needed a bit of bending to ensure close fit with ceiling - easy enough to do.

Great replacement fan
We purchased this to replace a very cheap builder's junk fan in our 2nd bath. This thing is oh so much better all the way around - it's quieter, more powerful and it's white (not like the old 'yellowed' one we had). We will definitely be buying another for our main bath (yes, that one, too, is builder's junk).

Unexpectedly pleasant
Over the years the two original brands established themselves as building contractor choices for economical, noisiest, longest running fan units. This order replaced a 40 year-old original builder unit. Installation was a challenge as the builder chose a very restricted ceiling location. Both attic space and fan housing mounts had to be modified for a fit of this larger, higher-volume model. Lower noise and increased flow are welcome improvements. Will it last 40 years? I won't be around to find out.

Whisper Quiet
I replaced both fans in my upstairs bathrooms with these, one fan hadn't worked in a few years, the other's decibel level was so loud you could not hear anyone calling you from outside the bathroom. Now with these installed, its whisper quiet and unfortunately for my family, cold when they get out of the shower now. No more steamy, saturated showers. This thing MOVES air quietly and efficiently. And no longer waking us up when the kids use their bathroom at night. Install is pretty simple, the fans i replaced were smaller than this so just used part of the box to trace shape of this on my ceiling and cut with drywall saw and installed from the attic. The amount of wire coming out of this though, they could of spare another inch or so for attaching to existing home power wire. I chose one on black friday for $55, but needed a second, and it jumped back to $90. Do not be afraid to check out the scratch and dent box models if they are offered still. I ordered one and the box had a scratch, unit itself was pristine.

Good Fan
Installation was straightforward and although it is slightly louder than the old fan, I consider this a plus in muffling bathroom noises. Exhaust capability is good. The major downside to this fan is the process to install the grill, specifically the spring clips holding the grill to the fan/ceiling. This is a horrible design and makes attaching the grill an awkward and frustrating experience. There are 2 springs that hold the grill in place leaving 2 points of poor design and aggravation. The main issues are it's difficult to see both slots where you insert the springs into the housing but once you are able to get one or perhaps both springs into the housing slot, and just before you snug the grill to the ceiling, the opposite end of the springs pops out of its retainer located on the grill. I found no way to reinsert the spring back into the retainer without removing the spring from the housing and begin the process once again but it kept popping out of the plastic grill retainer several more times. To prevent the spring from popping out of the retainer, I epoxied a small thin piece of metal (old flashing I had) and after it dried, I was able to install the grill by eliminating only 50% of the frustration leaving the other 50% in fully place. Broan-NuTone could go a long way by redesigning this aspect of the unit.

Excellent product.
Easy installation, good draw. Noise wise, its a fan people, fans move air, air movement makes some noise. I'd say for the amount of air it moves, it's quiet.
