This has become my favorite fishing rod to use for bass and walleye fishing in the Great Lakes/Niagara River. Sensitive rod tip, and versatile considering it includes both a medium and light rod tip. The 6-12 lb test light rod tip is typically what I'll use for bass and walleye as it is especially easy to pick up subtle bites (important for walleye jigging). The medium rod tip would be more appropriate for fishing through thick cover for pike or largemouth. This is exactly the type of fishing rod I was hoping Kastking would produce this year...something that is ideal for dropshotting and jigging, which is primarily the type of fishing I do from my boat in Lakes Erie/Ontario and the Niagara River. Very well-made rod, light-weight and durable. A great rod at its current price point, as are most Kastking products. On the upside, if the light rod tip breaks, you have a Medium backup option, though you'd lose out on the sensitivity the light tip provides.I recommend pairing this rod with the 2000-sized Kastking Sparticus II Spindrift IPX5 waterproof reel. The reel balances out the rod very well, and it's one of the smoothest reels on the market, perfect for almost all types of freshwater fishing. Kastking Zephyr M/L 7 ft rod + Sparticus II IPX5 Spindrift waterproof reel - I would put that combo up for the Pepsi challenge against a $500-$1000 setup any day of the week.

Picked up the KastKing Zephyr for its dual-tip design, and it did not disappoint. Swapping between tips for different power needs is quick and easy, making it perfect for switching up techniques without needing multiple rods. The build is lightweight but sturdy thanks to the KastFlex IM6 graphite, and the EVA grip feels great in hand even after hours of fishing. Fuji O-ring guides help keep my casts smooth, and I especially appreciate the drop shot hook keeper — a nice touch. Solid value for the price. Highly recommend for anglers who want flexibility and quality in one setup.

I currently own 3 different models of kastking rods. The other 2 will come into play later. For this 6'2 M/ML rod the build quality is really good. Light weight and perfect travel size. Just unbeatable for the price and essentially getting two rods. It's a great bass fishing and panfish rod. If you are an inshore fisherman this is not the rod for you, as imo the very skinny blank just doesn't seem like it will hold up to you hooking into that Big Red, Spec, or Drum. That's where the other 2 rods come into play both the Cruix and the Perigee II are both upgrades in that department. Spend the few extra bucks and invest in one of those for inshore use. Other than that amazing rod. And unlike others I am not very good at casting longer rods but this 6'2 rod I can cast a country mile.

This is a really nice rod. It's constructed well with quality components. The dual tips is a nice feature and I like versatility that it offers. The rod handles well and casts easily. It is responsive, with sensitivity for small bites but feels solid and strong enough for larger fish. In addition, it breaks down well. I am very happy with the purchase.

Very nice! I like that it comes with an extra tip. It’s way lighter than expected and was easy to “assemble”. My husband thinks I should order another one for him. It has good sensitivity for small bites and is very durable/ flexible. .

I had heard of dual tip rods before depending on the type of fishing you’re doing and the need you could swap out the tips for heavier or lighter action. This rod came with Medium and Medium Heavy. There’s a slight difference but not too much.I would’ve preferred to see no gap where the two pieces meet but it’s okay. It’s more of an overall look for me. This is my fifth KastKing rod and it’s exactly as I expected it to be. The quality and price are a great value. The look and color are nice. You can’t beat the Fuji guides and IM6 graphite. Looking forward to getting out on the water with this rod.
