Made in Japan Noren Curtain Tapestry Japanese Black Cats

Nicely made with a nice design. Having admired the concept of the Noren for years when I have seen them in various restaurants the time came when I knew I needed one. If you are shopping for your first Noren, this is a nice selection, the art work is nice, clean, playful and simple. The fabric is basic, efficient and accomplishes what the Noren is set out to do, at a reasonable price. This Noren is currently installed between the kitchen and the dining area of our smaller sized house. Initial goal is to help contain the heat in the kitchen from the other portion of the first floor during the summer...the effectiveness of this is still to be determined since we just got it. A secondary benefit I appreciate is that it acts like blinders on a horse. It helps create two seperate rooms. I can sit in the dining room and my eyes don't wander into the kitchen area, it is a comforting feeling to be "contained" in the separate dining space. When originally built there is evidence the passageway where it is hanging had a door. It seems in modern times people are pushing towards open floor plans etc., If you try this out you will likely appreciate the separation of rooms especially when they have different functions, and this Noren is an effective way to make this separation more definitive. I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty the design looked in person, They are not faded out at all but nice and vivid. Since the background is a neutral color, it will work in many decors. It's hard to decide where to display this, it looks good so many ways. Simply hanging on the wall as a tapestry, covering up the air conditioner unit in my laundry room, or as a doorway cover. We are cat lovers so this was a great find, as the price has gone down a few dollars since I purchased, I may get another :). I also think this would make a well received gift item.

Awesome curtain purchased to cover my laundry/cat litter box room since I removed the annoying door! I love this curtain, it is the perfect length and the design is very fitting for its purpose. PROS: - size (width and length) - beautiful graphics - color true to picture - there is a slit to split it down the middle if you desire - material should not attract visible dirt (if that makes sense) CONS: - design is not two-sided

This is so cute and perfect for my doorway. The only thing I would change is having the customer cut the fabric themselves. I am not to be trusted with cutting straight lines. Overall, it is really easy to cut and you can cut it to where you want it. I'd just prefer that it be precut.

I like the design of this curtain and the quality is good enough. It's not very thick material, but it's thick enough so that you can't see through it (unless maybe you put it on a window or on a glass door). I hung this curtain at the entrance of a windowless corridor and I can't see through it. I'm happy with my purchase.

I didn't use it as a traditional noren in a doorway but to decorate my awkward corner by the heater. I added a low ottoman to that corner so it wouldn't block the noren, and that also provided a place for my cat to sit and soak up the heat! It's now a really nice cat nook. The noren came well packaged and it's lightweight enough to put up with tacks (if your wall is soft enough) or small nails.

Noren reçu rapidement, du plus bel effet dans mon intérieur: me permt de laisser la porte de la sdb ouverte tout en cachant l'intérieur, la matière est épaisse mais laisse bien passer la lumière, les coloris sont identiques a la photos , pas de mauvaises surprise; Le Noren est en un seul tenant mais il y a une zone moins tissé au centre qui permet de séprarer en 2 battants jusqu'a la hauteur souhaitée. Je le fais tenir par qqes clous fin dans la chambranle de la porte et le rendu est excellent. Je pense en racheter pour faire des cadeaux originaux autour de moi

The quality wasn't what I expected but I still love it! I thought it would be a thick cloth like material but it's more of a woven fabric. I have it over my kitchen entrance and I love the fact it keeps the heat in the kitchen. I often cook onions and the fabric doesn't seem to hold on to the smell of food which is really good! Overall I recommend and I want to buy more for other rooms in the house.

It arrives early, It is a beautiful piece, great colour and soft material. True Japanese quality!
