Shimano Tourney/TY SL-TX50 Thumb Shifter Plus

7yr old daughter could not move grip shifters so I ordered these to see if she can manage them. Worked perfectly. She now has the only bike in the school yard that has gears that can be used!. Grip shifters are a disaster for kids. Kit comes with every thing you need. Easy to install/ adjust. Got these for a 6 speed bike and they worked fine. Her younger sister can also manage to change gears.

Long wait but good

A very good shifter. When pressed, the button below the thumb lever quickly and easily switches gears when increasing speed. The thumb shifter decreases speed. The parcel includes a click shifter for the crank chain rings, and sheathes for the cables. Plus each shifter is fitted with cables. I'm not using the crank chain ring shifter, but on inspection its lever seems too stiff moving from gear 3 to 1. Despite this I am very happy with the free wheel shifter.

Exact replacement for broken unit ( icy Road start of new year) fitted well and works a treat. As only a 7 gear cycle, any one want the 3 speed shifter, shame couldn't get the 7 speed shifter on it's own

My grip shifters were completely worn out so I bought these. Considering the price, these shifters are simply excellent. Gear changes are now fast and slick and the levers are easy to reach. These are nothing complicated, just press a button to go to a higher gear and push up a lever to go down a gear (it's even marked + and - !).Both shifters and new cables and cable housing are included. Provided you have a decent cable cutter, these are all easy to install. If you are replacing grip shifters, you should also get new handlebar grips (usually 13cm but do check yourself!). I highly recommend them.

Replaced a mysteriously broken shifter.Easy to fit but you need a cable cutter as electrical snips won’t cut it.😉A pity the shifters come in pairs as I only needed one.

These shifters are very good at the job, and switch gears swiftly, and precise. However, what I don't like so much is the left shifter as it only has one lever for moving up and down the gears for. Rather than two, which seems a bit awkward and odd to me. Easy to configure with the adjusters and I am not even a pro. !

nothing wrong with the component, this is not a review of the item but the seller delivery time was months.
