I bought it primarily to improve my osmotic flow brewing. The added slow, precise pour allows me to fully saturate my blooms using less water, even at a 1:2 ratio. The slower flow rate helps me match the kettle's output to the coffee dripper's flow for osmotic, which the stock Stagg EKG couldn't do consistently (it was too fast or dripped). The downward-angled spout also lets me pour closer to the coffee bed, achieving even slower pours without the stream breaking. I don't use the flow adjusting screw as it disrupts the laminar flow. Despite the overall lower flow rate, I can still achieve high agitation pours, as the sharp stream breaks through the coffee bed well. Very helpful for small dose cups where pours are only ~40g, as I can provide more agitation with less water. I've been using this spout mod consistently for the past three months and prefer it over the stock spout even for larger doses.
