Sure can. It has a wax-like liner to it so moist items are ok for transport.

It depends on how much salad you eat. For personal home use this is big enough for me. Restaurants would use a larger box. I can fit a bagel and a clementine in them if that help visualize.

Can this fit a soda can and a sandwich plus other items?

It may fit a small sandwich in there, but I feel like it would be too flimsy to transport back and forth somewhere. I love these containers for leftovers, but they’re not lunchbox material. Take care.
