MDRZX100 ZX Series Stereo Headphones (White)

First off I need to develop credibility. I collect headphones and earbuds, I have many many many pairs. I specialize in the lower end products cause that's what most people look for. I have been in music production for years and do know what good sound is so you can listen to me in this review and know that I'm not just some guy off the street that has no clue. I've read every review for this product on amazon (almost 300) and this is what you will get from my review; Facts based on my opinion compared to things that at least 98% of the reviews either agree with or don't mention, basic categories (Durability, Sound Quality, Looks, Comfort, and other positives/negatives) rated on a 1 to 10 scale, and this product compared to other very well known products. Here is a list of the facts that just about everyone agrees with in all of the other reviews... -They look sexy -They do tend to heat up and make your ears warm, not hot, but warm -They have decent sound quality, I think it's a little better than everyone gives it credit for but it has good sound -Very cost effect, it's worth the money -The colors are slightly different tones of white but not noticeable very much -The cable is the perfect length -It will fit on most heads, I have a very large head but it fits me -Very lightweight Ratings... Durability... 7.5 -The Cable is most comparable to that of the cord on a nunchuc for the wii, very thick and more of a plastic than rubber -The plastic of the headphones in very light weight -The jack in a ninety degree angle so your ipod/mp3 player won't get stressed -So far has had no problems Sound Quality... 8.5 -Handles bass at a refined level -Handles high trebles decently -Words are clear -the drums are very separated which is good because you can hear each individual sound very clearly (Bass drum, hi hat, tom, etc) -mids get lost Looks... 10 -Clean white -circular and curvy look -I have been asked if they were beats, and beats don't have much going for them, but they do look cool -Red stripe to indicate right side -Matches with anything Comfort... 6.5 -worst category -no padding on top of headband -heats up, this is either gonna be positive or negative for you -The pads for your ears are very comfortable -The cord is comfortable under your shirt -uncomfortable if you like to wear it around your neck Other... -There's flat cables when the cord splits so it's easy to get untangles -They are compact because you can rotate the cups in one direction to a flat position -The volume is perfect at it's loudest volume -The sound does leak quite a bit -Not noise cancling Compared to other products... -twice as good sound quality as skull candy ink'd buds -4 times better than any earpolution product under 30 dollars -At least 10 times better than the old iphone headphones -Almost as good of sound quality as beats -half as good as a high end koss or sennheiser Overall... 8.125 out of 10 Contact at [email protected]

i had previously purchased a set for my son (in white) about a year ago over summer break, they needed headphones for class that needed to be left at school to be used during testing and other such activities (each kid must bring their own for personal use not to be shared) so we were at the outlet malls in aurora last summer and during some shopping at the sony store we got them for him in white to match his school macbook. needless to say that they are still in great shape! he is only 6 and the fact that they are for 1. still functioning and 2. still in one piece and 3. have great audio quality he is very happy with them. it just so happens that during christmas break he and my kids recieved kindles from santa and lets just say multiple noise levels were getting on my nerves. the headphones that we had purchased during summer were left at school and he is not allowed to bring them home for fear that he could come back to school without them. so here we go on amazon to look for something affordable and we find these! needless to say i had to purchase them again!!! we got two pairs this time around one for each of our kids, the sound quality is very good and they were more affordable then what i had to pay for at the sony store both of our kids really do love them and now i dont have to put up with noise from either of their kindles when they are allowed to play. i must admit that even my husband and i like them when were on the computer listening to music or surfing you tube or catching up on our favorite episode online lol and for the price i know that if they break or get damaged its not putting a big dent in my wallet. ofcourse there is aways those really expensive beats or bose heaphones but i would not spend my money on those unless they were to improve my DJ-ing carreer hahahaha. so if you are looking for good audio that wont dent your wallet you can always count on these sony headphone to deliver. + they have a manufacturer warranty too. so if their defective they can get replaced or repaird im thinking this will be very usefull on our roadtrip to texas this coming summer!!

Back in 2014 I bought a pair of these headphones on sale at a hmv. Back then I didn't think too much of it, it was just after Christmas and I was looking for some new headphones for my computer and or phone. It is now 2020 and I still have that same pair of headphones. I have dropped them. Thrown them. They have been through hell and back. They still work. They still have the same great quality and sound just as good as they did back when I first got them. Just really goes to show how good of a product they made. The only reason I purchased a new pair of these was because after years and years of use I put them through. Eventually the earmuffs started deteriorating. Leaving grey flakes all over the place and just being ripped up in general. I decided that I should probably either upgrade or do something about it. Rather than getting a new pair of headphones, or literally anything else. I bought a new pair of them, replaced the muffs from the new one onto the old one. And bam, like brand new. I would have otherwise used the new ones but because I have had the old ones for so long they were already broken in and fit perfectly to my head. Would I recommend these? Absolutely. They are near invincible. In a age where technology usually doesn't last more than a year or things become out of date. These reliable headphones are still my choice when it comes to music, gaming, and anything I can use them for.

Throw away those annoying, cheap earbuds and just get this. It'll be the greatest purchase you've ever made for less than thirty bucks. The audio quality is amazing (get out of here, beats). The build quality is fantastic. I put it in my backpack sometimes, scrambled with all my other rigid belongings. Sometimes I fear that I'll take it out and the plastic will be chipped somewhere, but after all this time, IT JUST NEVER HAPPENED. It's just too well-built. Also, the cord is very thick and durable (not some skimpy earbud cord that easily gets worn out at the ends). I have a bad habit of chewing on cables when I'm looking at the computer (weird, I know), however this cord has easily withstood the test of my gnawing after all these months. You can't even find a mark. There's a little raised dot right above one of the earpods so you know which side is left and which is right, so that's a bonus. It fits snugly on my head. The only possible complaint you could have is if you think it is a bit too tight on your head after wearing for several hours. It's the most minor of annoyances really, and might just be my imagination. Nevermind being so cheap. If you sold this to me for $100, I wouldn't even feel robbed.
