This filled a need for me perfectly: I have a blueberry field far from any electrical power source, and thus a battery powered controller was a must have. Fortunately, this single device handles four different water lines, so I can tweak each portion of the field for different watering times or durations. I find the user interface perfectly straightforward: click the return arrow key twice to get to the select valve screen, arrow key to enter change mode, +/- to select the valve, return key to go on to the next parameter for the selected valve. Other parameters work off that same principle: arrow key into the change mode, +/- to change the parameter, return key to store and move to the next parameter. It has days of the week mode, but I find the day interval mode to be more useful (in a 7 day week you literally can't get consistent delays between watering unless you're only watering on one day of the week or every day of the week). So I set it for a 2 day interval, and it waters every other day. I use it with Galcon DC valves, purchased from another source since Amazon apparently only carries Galcon AC valves - be sure to get DC latching solenoid valves! I also talked to the Galcon USA rep, and he was friendly and supportive and available, so that is helpful. He gave me a tip: before you pressurize the system, touch the red wire of a valve to the minus terminal of a 9 volt battery while also touching the black wire to the plus terminal. Just touch it for a moment, and this will set the valve to OFF so water doesn't flow until the controller commands the valve to open. So far it has been working like a champ.

Easy programming, The unit tested good with multimeter, will install soon. Mine was used/refurbished (bought at discounted price); it had wires already stripped on valve 1 and 2 owok, came with manual and mounting brackets.

This galcon DC6104 (4 valves + master) is an excellent reliable product. I have been using it in a orange orchard for the last 7 years with no problems apart from changing the battery every 14-18 months. It is very easy to connect and setup.

Bought this irrigation controller timer for a drip system I installed. It doesn't work on Rainbird brand anti- siphon Valves 2 wire valves. I tested it on a orbit brand 2 wire valve that I had laying around. It works for orbit brand anyway. Make sure you test it on your Valves before your 30 day return policy is up. I was very busy and didn't test it in time. Missed my 30 day return by 1 week. Now I'm out $100+ dollars.

Works perfectly after two years. even bought a second one.

Easy to use and works as advertised

The batter post for 9V connection was squashed and unusable on arrival. I needed to get the job going so I replaced it. Then I realized that this is only usable with a Galcon valve. Ha. I gave it two stars, up from one, because it probably would have worked if not for my mistake and the faulty connector.

I have had to install several of these as the wires to our main sprinklers on our 5 Acres....when one goes out because the wiring fails somewhere, rather than dig up the wires, I install these timers...they work well.
