This dissection kit was awesome! I order owl pellets every year around this time for my preschool class to dissect. These pellets were large and therefore contained a LOT more bones than we usually see, including some complete skulls. It was also easy to download the various bone charts and fun to try to guess which animals the bones matched up with. I will definitely be ordering my pellets from here again next year.

Bought this for my 7 year old daughter. She had a lot of fun "dissecting" the pellet (basically you just get it wet and pull it apart). We found a shrew skeleton and spent an hour identifying the little bones. A short hint on that one, a quick Google search will yield some more complete charts than the ones included. It is is very fun to ID the individual bones after figuring out what little critter you have. I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun way to engage your kids in some supplemental STEM learning.

These were great for my 3 homeschoolers. I was so excited to get these pellets. However, I had no idea how nauseated they would make me. The pellets are fine and don't stink at all. I guess it was just something about seeing all the bones (skulls) on my kitchen table that threw my senses into a tailspin. I wanted to see the project through, but I had to throw it all out. But, this is a great product. Just sending you a caution.

My 7 year old niece had been begging me to do some “science experiments” for ages, and I thought this was a good place to start. She had a great time. These pellets are nice and large, and we got lots of stuff out of them, including a couple full skulls. It was lots of fun to go through and identify the bones after we cleaned them up, and now she has a jar full of tiny bones on her bedroom shelf.

The pellets were large and wrapped individually well but they should have came in a baggie of some sort. They pellets were just wrapped up together in bubble wrap. I think it was a good value though and my kids enjoyed it.

My son had been curious about owl pellets, so after looking around at different options on Amazon we picked this one because of the price, tools included, reference materials and the quantity of pellets. The six were more than enough for our little group as each one is pretty densely packed. They were each very different, had a lot of great samples and we learned a lot with the charts and materials to use as a guide.

These are SMALL. I suspect these are the leftovers once the larger ones are picked and sent to educational organizations.
