In my opinion an excellent product. It works very well for us and is entirely satisfactory. One really big plus is the ease of fitting. 5 min job. excellent design. Fully satisfied.

Reading the advertisement, it was in theory just what I needed to solve smokey downdraughts.The first windy day my lounge was likea red indian wigwam only they had the intelligence to build in a hole in the roof to let the smoke out,unfortunately all I could do was to put the fire out before I was asphyxicated.In short the cowel was useless,as is the warranty as I have paid to have it fitted and would have to pay again to have it dismantled to return it.Reading one star reviews on Amazon I usually disregard as a trivial criticism of a product, however in this case it simply does not work.

Had problems for years with water ingress in flue and not been able to light the fire when the wind is too strong. This product solved all the problems and our Jet Master fireplace has never worked so well.

The cowl itself seemed to work well, however although it was secured as tightly as possible it was blown off the crock of the chimney. Don't know if we can put it up again.

Item arrived today, it does not come with bird entry protection as stated, this is the trade version and this is not included do not purchase this if you have issues with birds entering chimney. Have not fitted yet as l have to modify to protect from bird entry,
