We have this beautiful fan in our lofted living room. It works great, is controlled via a remote control for speed variability.

It does not remember its last state when the power is switched so you always have to use the remote.
This fan is beautiful on the ceiling, well made, and dead silent due to the DC motor. I would give it five stars, except for two things: The fan does not remember its last state when the power is turned off which means you always have to use the remote, even if you have a fan switch on the wall. I hate "warts" like that remote on my walls, so this is a major fail. Flash memory is part of almost every embedded controller these days, so there is to excuse for this - a few lines of code is all that would be needed. Low speed is not as low as I would like. It creates a nice, quite breeze, but often, I just want to have a little air movement and not necessarily, a breeze.

Quiet and easy to install fan
Fair price, easy install, quiet except on 4,5 & 6 but not really as loud as a floor fan. Remote works fine. It comes with 4”, 8” and 24” post but I needed 16” so I just used 24” and moves air fine. It has a graph instructions with how far from ceiling to hang based on ceiling height which is great.
