Excellent small task Veggie/Meat chopper!
I have a larger version of this OXO Santuko I bought many years ago. It's survived whatever the level of punishment that I deemed necessary to deliver upon it. Great solid knife! So when my favorite small task veggie chopper snapped on me (cheap China made knife, but it was great) I wanted a small task Santoku chopper. I found this knife. It's very similair to my other OXO larger Santoku. First what was different. It has no metal butt plate for smashing joints/bones. But that's not what you use this knife for. It's a veggie chopper that can double up in a pinch for small meat jobs like chicken. It's handle, to my disappointment, is not foam rubber, like the other OXO Santoku, but the handle is a fairly soft plastic. Not as good, but not worth a star. The balance on it, like my other OXO Santoku is very good. Not perfect, but for the price paid, it's very good. The knife feels light and agile in the hand. That gives you confidence you have mastery of the steel. The finish of the steel is very well done, with a semi mirror shine. Signs of a quality knife. They took the time to buff it up first. Some knifes in this class they just stamp it out, put an edge on it, and call it done. So good quality looking blade for the money. But it's what the steel can do that matters. The blade is completely wickedly razor sharp. Be careful with it. So the first of a 12 veggie gauntlet was it's duty. The humble tomato skinning test. An acid test of sharpness. It skinned a ripe tomato with nearly zero effort on my part. Nothing but skin. Yup, it's sharp all right. It then continued through the rest of my veggie gauntlet challenge without fear or hesitation. You barely need to apply any pressure for it to start chopping it's way through things. The weight of the knife itself is almost enough. Very well done indeed! Finally, while I noticed the grip on the handle was still excellent, it was time to get it greasy. My other OXO, you can keep a firm controlling level of grip even when it's seriously slick with grease. So I ran it through some chicken legs. Once more, like the veggies, it just......simply killed them. The grip remained, like my other OXO knife, superb. Very good knife. If ur looking for a great small task veggie chopper that offers excellent control this is ur knife!

Perfect knife for small jobs
Perfect knife for chopping and other small jobs where you don't want to get out a big chef's knife. Cuts perfectly, well balanced with a comfortable handle. Easy to clean. Store with one of the knife covers in a set available on Amazon.

Sharp, safe, and efficient
When I decided to shop for a new Chef's knife I was thrilled to find this one from OXO and for a fabulous price of $16. As an owner of many of their products I knew this item would be top of the line, and it is. The knife is evenly balanced between the ergonomic handle and the very sharp blade. It is light weight, easy to use, and efficient. All of these factors result in making it a safe tool which is critical for a knife. I highly recommend it. Plus with any OXO product if there's an issue they will resolve it . Something I've experienced first hand when my apple corer broke. They replaced.

Great knife
bought both this and OXO's slightly larger knife, really never use my expensive chef's knife now. These are sharp, fit the hand perfectly - feel like an extension of my hand!

Good knife but be careful
This knife would be perfect if the very bottom corner was dulled/rounded or covered by the handle instead of protruding just slightly. I cut the heck out of my finger by accident just holding the knife as I do all other knives- my fault but it was so easy to do with that super sharp corner so close to where the knife is held. Otherwise, it’s a perfect size for smallish hands, cuts everything like butter, and is reasonably priced

Handy little kitchen knife.
This is a great knife for all those little chopping and cleaning/trimming tasks. I have a professional knife set from Wusthoff but hardly ever use it. I prefer the OXO mini Santoku to my larger Santoku and my paring knives. The blade is a little thin and light but the handle is ergonomic and feels great in the hand. It cuts transparent tomato slices and makes quick work of celery sticks. Best of all it is inexpensive and you do not care if you run it through a dishwasher ( a no-no with quality kitchen knives). I bought two and they are in my ready block next month sink ready to do a fast food prep job at a minutes notice. Money we'll spent for those on a budget.

Very very sharp. It cuts through potatoes onions and meat. Handy for everything the small size makes it ideal to hold in hand for better grip and control whilst chopping. Really impressed with this knife. It’s one knife that can be used for multiple food stuffs.
