Yes, it is a small and expensive container, but the serving size is TINY and worth every penny! Start with the smallest amount — introducing new things to your dog’s diet should ALWAYS be done slowly. This has a strong mushroom/umami smell but it didn’t bother my dog at all. We have been using this product along with one from another brand (has spirulina, colostrum, etc.) and our English Bulldog almost FREE of licking and itching. If your vet has recommended Hydrolyzed Food or Apoquel please do research on the GUT MICROBIOME. Heal the gut, heal the body!

I had to stop using this after one week as it made my dog’s itching much worse. After just a few days, his paw licking became constant. As soon as he woke up in the morning, he would start licking and biting his paws and it would continue all day. Once I stopped giving it to him, his paw licking decreased drastically. Maybe it would have helped him eventually, but I couldn’t leave him on it. Very disappointing especially since it is non returnable so I’m out $40. UPDATE: The company reached out to me and gave me a refund. While this particular product did not agree with my dog, I have used one of their other products (Gut Guard) with no problems.

Two years ago we adopted a six year old, 80 pound Lab that was over-used as a breeder. The sweetest dog who most likely lived in a barn. She was heart-worm positive. She was greasy and smelled musty all the time. We gave her baths frequently with anti-fungal shampoo. She scratched so much she would get skin infections and needed frequent vet visits and expensive heavy-duty antibiotics. Vet said it was yeast. We changed her food multiple times. Even the $140 food didn’t help. This is the only product I ever saw that said it was specifically for yeast overgrowth. Yes, $40 is expensive for a little jar but it lasts a month and definitely worth a try if your dog has yeast. She’s a different dog! I give her one teaspoon a day and mix it in beef broth. I pour it over her food and she licks the bowl. Now I can give her good, limited ingredient food and the price difference pays for the Yeast Guard. I have it on auto ship. I’ve used it for 5-6 months and her skin and fur continue to get better. I just wish I’d known about it sooner. I think this is only the second review I’ve ever written. As one reviewer said, just try it. Abby (my dog) and I are very grateful. 😊🐾🐾

We have an itchy, yeasty lhasa apso. I was hopeful this may help us, but we couldn't bear to wait it out. In my research, it says that sometimes dogs will have some sort of yeast explosion while their system is flushing out the dying yeast. Our pup was way too inflamed and this pushed her over the edge. We only did a few days of trying before discontinuing. If your dog isn't in an overly yeasty stage - this may be great. Our little pup quickly calmed down after we stopped giving this in her food. She didn't seem to care that it was sprinkled over a little wet food and gobbled it up (she will eat pretty much anything!).
