Elvive Hyaluron + Pure Oil Erasing Scalp Serum with Salicylic Acid For Oily Hair, 3.45 Fl Oz

As someone with fine hair but a lot of it, I was on the hunt for a product that would make wash day easier and actually help remove oils and buildup so my blowouts could last longer. My hair tends to get oily a few days after washing, and I wanted something that would deeply cleanse my scalp without drying my hair out. As a cosmetologist, I’m pretty picky about hair products, but L’Oréal has always been one of my go-to budget-friendly brands, and I already use quite a few of their products. This scalp serum is honestly amazing. I use it exactly as directed — applying it right before I get in the shower, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then washing it out. My scalp feels so refreshed and clean afterward without feeling stripped or irritated. I also noticed my hair stays fresher longer, and my blowouts definitely last longer before my roots start looking oily again. The formula is super lightweight and breathable. You can barely feel it on your scalp, which I actually love because it doesn’t leave behind any greasy or heavy feeling. Because of how lightweight it is, a little goes a long way, so be careful not to overapply. One of my favorite things is how soft my hair feels afterward. Some clarifying or oil-control products can leave hair feeling dry, tangled, or rough, but this leaves my hair soft, clean, and moisturized without weighing it down. It also helped with frizz control, especially around my roots after blow drying, which was a nice surprise. The fragrance is another plus. It has a light, fresh floral scent that smells clean and salon-like without being overpowering. It leaves your hair smelling fresh after styling while still feeling lightweight. I also have somewhat sensitive skin and didn’t experience any scalp irritation, itching, or dryness while using this product. The bottle size isn’t huge, but in my opinion it’s absolutely worth it for both the quality and the price. A little product goes a long way, and for a drugstore scalp serum, the performance genuinely impressed me. If you struggle with oily roots, buildup, or want your hairstyle to last longer between washes, I definitely recommend trying this.

This serum is absolutely incredible. I've suffered with an oily scalp since puberty; same as my father before me. I have tried every product and stylist-suggested method under the sun to attempt to get the issue under control. Nothing has worked. Until now. I will say that you need to make sure that you follow the instructions, section off your hair, apply the serum to the (dry/unwashed) sections, massage for five minutes, and let it sit for a further 15, and then rinse it out before shampooing and conditioning it. If you've got the patience to follow these steps, and you use it in concert with the corresponding shampoo and conditioner, you will be amazed by the results. For the first time in my life, my hair actually squeaked while I was shampooing it. And after conditioning (my lengths only) my hair is super clean, silky soft, and is oil-free for 3-4 days afterwards. It's also so much less tangled after I sleep. My brush just glides right through it. Some further information that may be needed is that I do have fine hair (but a lot of it). I also use this serum once a week. Every Sunday. I wash it again mid-week using only the corresponding shampoo and conditioner, and my hair is incredible and oil-free throughout. I can't promise this product will work for everyone, but for me? It's a godsend. If you've struggled with oily hair all your life and given up on ever conquering it, maybe don't. I really do think this product is worth a try. I genuinely hope and pray that they keep it as a permanent staple in the Elvive line.

Love this. It works so well, smells wonderful, washes out easily, and makes my hair feel so fresh. Only thing to note is if you have thick hair, you’ll go through this product pretty quickly as it is very watery and the bottle is pretty small.

This product is incredible. It smells great and putting it in 15 min before shampooing really helps degrease hair without drying it out.

I've tried so many different products for my scalp issues. I have rosacea and get bumps and "zit" like things on my scalp that are super painful and can just feel gross. My problem is I also have sensitive skin, seriously sensitive so I must be careful what I use. Plus I have allergies... so imagine my delight in finding a product with no weird ingredients that didn't break the bank. Many high end hair products with salicylic acid are very expensive and hard to find so when I saw this L'Oreal product I was skeptical of results and I was wrong, this is wonderful. I've used several times, putting the product on my scalp per the instructions and the bottle has handy measuring lines on the side for the treatment amounts. Massage it in, put a shower cap on so the warmth of my head helps it soak in while keeping it moist, then rinse and follow up with the Hyaluron Pure clarifying shampoo, then following with my hydrating conditioner. My scalp is the cleanest it has ever been, no dry flakes, no new breakouts, and the existing ones are calming down already. My hair is still soft, moisturized, and smooths perfectly with the use of my preferred styling product and flat iron. So many scalp treatments that work leave my hair crunchy or out of control, this doesn't.

This product is pretty good for people who have very oily hair like me!! I could barely go a single day without washing my hair but once I tried this I could go a whole extra day and now I only have to wash every other day! I also use this with the joico scalp refresh and they work very well together.
