Einhell 18V 4.0Ah PXC Battery Starter Kit with Charger

I have quickly discovered that the expensive part of battery-powered tools is the battery. It's sometimes cheapest to get a starter set with a drill, charger and batteries, even if you already have a drill! That's the route I decided to take, but my drill only had the 2AH batteries, and I wanted a bigger one for the circular saw I just bought. I didn't actually NEED a bigger battery as it turned out - these batteries are all pretty powerful, and I was able to cut through solid oak kitchen counter tops with the smaller 2AH batteries. The size has nothing to do with the available power, the only difference is that the bigger ones last longer. Nevertheless, it's useful to have plenty of batteries available. For jobs like kitchen fitting I've found that three is a good number - one in the drill, one in the impact screwdriver and one in the circular saw. Ideally another one in the charger... It gets expensive, which is why I made sure I got this in the sale. £40 for the battery and charger is not bad at all. I now have two chargers, which is always useful because I can have one in the workshop and one wherever I am working. From the older reviews it seems some came with an EU plug, but that seems to have been resolved now. My charger came with a UK plug on, so I was able to use it immediately. The battery had about 75% charge, so it didn't take long to fully charge it up. The charger has the usual lights to tell you if it's discharged, charging or full. The battery also has lights to tell you the charge status, which is handy. You just press a button next to the release catch. The battery only fits Einhell tools, officially. However, Einhell also make some of the tools sold by Lidl and Aldi, so you might find the batteries are interchangeable. The battery does NOT fit Makita, Bosch or Stanley Fatmax tools (old or new). You can get adapters... This 4AH battery is quite a lot heavier than the 2AH, which is worth remembering if you have to hold the thing over your head for any length of time. I guess that's why they make different sizes - use the right one for the job.

Having a few Einhell garden tools, I decided a spare battery would be common sense. And, considering the charger/battery set didn’t cost much more, I thought why not? The battery itself can be used across the whole range of Einhell tools so they are very versatile and good value for money. Charging speed is pretty quick and lasts quite well, so a good purchase. Solid and well made.

Game changer down the allotment to fill 210L barrels, takes 20-40 minutes . Batteries last just a bit longer, around 50-60 minutes so good to have spare(s) at hand if planning pumping a lot of liquid. Good value for what you get although it takes a special size connector to fit a standard hose fitting to it, pity manufacturers don’t include it in the pack as it’s possibly the most useful piece.

Good rechargeable batteries great set can change one whilst using the other battery making work better and the value is great for what you get .

Wer auf die Akku-Werkzeuge von Einhell umsteigt, kommt an diesem Starter Kit kaum vorbei. Nach mehreren Wochen im Einsatz kann ich bestätigen, dass sowohl der Akku als auch das Ladegerät halten, was sie versprechen. Leistung und Ausdauer Der 4,0 Ah Akku bietet genug Kapazität für energieintensive Arbeiten (wie Rasenmähen oder längeres Schleifen), ohne das Handgerät dabei zu schwer oder kopflastig zu machen. Die Kraftabgabe bleibt bis kurz vor Ende der Ladung konstant hoch. Ladegerät und Handhabung Das im Set enthaltene Ladegerät arbeitet effizient und zuverlässig. Ladezeit: Ein komplett leerer 4,0 Ah Akku ist in etwa 75 bis 80 Minuten wieder voll einsatzbereit. Status-Anzeige: Die 6-stufige LED-Anzeige gibt jederzeit präzise Auskunft über den aktuellen Ladezustand und eventuelle Fehler. Das integrierte ABS-Batteriemanagement sorgt zudem dafür, dass der Akku nicht überhitzt oder tiefentladen wird, was die Lebensdauer deutlich erhöht.
