I love this machine! Really!
I love this machine! It has a pretty hefty price tag but is worth every penny. The steam is completely controllable and is really effective so you can whizz through a huge pile of ironing in a fraction of the time. I had a Laurastar ironing system for years, which was also great, but have had to downsize since moving house. I am in love all over again. This steam generator is small and compact, but really produces all the steam necessary to smooth away creases. Jeans - no problem; shirts - a breeze; sheets - quickly done. It is ready for use in just 3 minutes, and switches itself off if left unused for 10 minutes. The iron itself is light - so easy to use, and the pulsing steam is wonderfully effective - a real plus. The retractable cord is another plus. There is a detachable special foot plate to use for silk or fabrics that might 'shine' if ironed with the regular iron. And being so compact and light you can easily steam curtains etc in situ. An all round winner!

Product broke after 4 uses
The iron broke after 4 uses- the pump went on it so it had to be repaired by Atlas in the UK. Despite wanting a refund as I didn't think 4 uses for an expensive iron was value for money, Laurastar declined. In retrospect, Amazon should have provided me with a right to return but for some reason decided that I had to deal directly with Laurastar even though Amazon were the ones who sold it- in contravention to UK consumer law! Had to wait in all day for courier to collect and repair- it was eventually repaired but came back with the handle broken. Back to Atlas for a fix- waited in again a whole day for Parcelforce to say they came to collect....but never did. Can't be bothered second time round- asking Laurastar for a refund but Sebastien in the Laurastar team says 'no'. Now, it looks like I have to take them to small claims as I really cannot be enthused to have to deal with incompetent retailers and couriers. Make a fuss and hopefully people will learn. Don't buy these overpriced, unreliable bits of kit! You've been warned.

Solid performer . Pricey
Head and shoulders above any other iron I’ve owned. This is my second one after 6 years and I expect the first would have last longer with some basic TLC. It’s all about the steam! Our cleaner swears by it.

Reduces ironing time!
This is my second Laura Star iron and I love it. The first I had for 10 years and during that time it did not let me down, and this one is excellent. It's a little bit noisy, when it takes in more water, but this is a very small irritation, as it halves the time of my ironing. Excellent product.

Excellent iron but very cumbersome and heavy.
This is an excellent idea and a really good ironing system. I’ve used it on delicates and cottons and even though there are only two heat settings it efficiently got all of the creases out. It uses a dry heat so you don’t get a sauna every time you use it. However, it is very big and cumbersome, ideally you would set it up in your utility room (if you have one) and be able to leave it there. It’s heavy and I found it difficult to move around and you need to ensure when you’re using it that you place the iron back onto the plate as it gets to hot to put on the board. This is ideal for a professional ironer, someone who would get the most out of this system, not really suited for the home environment.

Overpriced junk
Awful Iron. Do not buy at any costs. It broke after about 1 month. Steam button got stuck. Plus it stopped steaming and sprayed water all over the board. Got it fixed at Laurastar which was a laborious process. Then after 2nd ironing session after it had been fixed it broke again. Steam was stuck on continuously at blast pressure rendering it unusable. Very unreliable, funky ergonomics. Don't bother.

Not as good as earlier model
not as good as the previous model, doesn't seem to iron anywhere near as good as my earlier model which in hindsight i should've just had serviced by Laurastar. On the plus side the improvements in refilling make using it much easier and it looks funky.
