Much improved over the 2018 version. I’ve known Ari Whitten professionally for eight years and was excited for this release. It did not disappoint. As the founder of a regenerative health and human performance facility that has facilitated over 56,000 whole-body light and PBM laser therapy sessions, including Class 4 laser sessions for clients dealing with energy depletion, chronic fatigue, inflammation, and pain; I read this book through a practitioner’s lens. It is one of the most thorough and clarifying resources available in the field today. This book brings structure to what has often felt like the “Wild West” of red light therapy and photobiomodulation. It clearly explains the most important variables — wavelength, irradiance, dose, time, frequency, and dosimetry — and does so in a way that integrates the perspectives of many leading voices in the field. Even for experienced practitioners, there are meaningful insights here. I just finished reading and listening to the "updated" 2026 version of The Ultimate Guide to Red Light Therapy while traveling internationally, and it exceeded my expectations. Much improved over the 2018 version. I’ve known Ari Whitten professionally for eight years and was excited for this release. It did not disappoint. Thorough and well researched
Not an easy read but if you have a real interest red light therapy this is the book for you

This book could save you thousands of dollars!
This information could save you thousands of dollars! Through personal experience, I already knew that red light therapy was useful. I had received LLLT cold laser treatments that helped me regain the use of my arm after a long period of debilitating pain in my shoulder. My story: Chronic shoulder pain following an attack of shingles caused my shoulder to freeze up and I literally could not lift my arm for a year. The slightest movement would send excruciating pain through my shoulder, I could not stand, sit, walk or lay down without being in pain. After the first few weeks of this chronic pain my rotator cuff muscles atrophied. I'm not a big fan of over-the-counter pain relievers, since I know they can damage your organs and are not good to take constantly on a long-term basis. And pain relievers don't heal your problem either. I tried physical therapy and Chiropractic, ice packs, heat packs but nothing made a dent in the pain until I tried low level laser therapy (cold laser treatments). I went to a laser therapist suggested by a friend and after the first treatment I got some incredible relief - like my body forgot about the nagging stabbing pain when trying to lift my arm and gave me a break for a bit. I returned for many laser sessions which I attribute to finally healing my shoulder and regaining the ability to use my arm. It helped relieve pain, allowing me to move and start to regain muscle. However laser treatments are expensive - about $100 an hour for my therapist, and I could not afford to go regularly since I had been underemployed from the disability. Then I learned through Ari Whitten’s Energy Blueprint Program that red light therapy could be done effectively in other ways using red LED panels; that I could get a home device that I could regularly use for the same purpose as the laser treatments I was getting. What's more, Ari had looked at all the scientific research and tested out lots of devices and determined which ones actually work to deliver the results that research talks about. This new book on red light therapy is comprehensive. It not only outlines the scientific research that shows red light is beneficial and healing to the human body, but gives you practical instruction on how to evaluate the effectiveness of a device, how to use the light to get various benefits, and be time efficient doing red light treatments on yourself. He also recommends powerful and effective devices that are affordable and lets you know where to get them. If you have any interest in red light therapy this is the book to get!

Very easy to understand for every level of health whether early on in research or advanced knowledge
This book is fantastic; I received it earlier in the week and have already read over 3 chapters. I also looked in other chapters to see the information for thyroid; which is one of my my reasons for getting red light; and they have helped my inflammation for sure. This book is a GREAT tool to have to be able to research specific areas or to just get the wealth of knowledge Ari has on Red Light. I do own several red light pieces as well as a red light sauna and the book just helps me to know I purchased some of the best units. Thank you for all your time in getting this second book on red light out there; and I can't wait to get further into the book for more great information. I wished I knew about the first edition; but that's ok; this one goes more in depth by what I understand!! Thank you Ari Whitten

I just got the book and I glanced through it. I’m so glad I spent the money for this book. Just from quick browsing I saw plenty of vital information. Oh, it’s not just cosmetic, red light therapy has a wide range of uses for health. Please buy this book before you purchase any red light therapy option. Also he offers discount codes in the book for the devices he recommends. The discounts more than cover the cost of the book. Just buy it.

Somewhat disappointing
If you are expecting anything like his previous book, which listed various products he recommends by name, you will be disappointed as I am. I was hoping the book would name actual products that would give good results, but that's not what this book seems to be geared to. It's MUCH more technical than I wanted or needed. I don't understand how my own vehicle works precisely, but I still want good recommendations for such. I'm most likely going to return the book as looking through it I can see it doesn't have what I was hoping for. His previous book was so wonderful I don't know why he didn't incorporate that layout as least partially.

It Really Is the Ultimate Guide
This book really is the ultimate guide to red and NIR light therapy. Ari Whitten details exactly what red and NIR therapy is and why it's so good for us. He lets us know all the things it's possible to treat, and often cure, with red and NIR light therapy. Things like muscle aches, wound healing, chronic pain, especially arthritic pain, muscle loss, aging, especially of the skin, and so much more. Red light and NIR light therapy is best if it's not overused. This isn't a case where more is better. More can inflict harm. For example, a few minutes of sunshine a day will give you the vitamin D you need, but lying in the sun for hours will only age your skin and perhaps give you skin cancer. Mr. Whitten tells us how much red and NIR light we need to achieve a specific result. If you're treating memory loss, for example, you're going to need more than if you're treating superficial lines on your face. If you want to eliminate or minimize pain in an arthritic knee, you'll need more than you will to aid in superficial wound healing. Mr. Whitten also details the best red/NIR light panels from inexpensive knock-offs that really don't do anything at all but deplete your bank account. This is the book's one weak spot. There are several very good brands of red/NIR lights on the market that are not included in Mr. Whitten's book. Still, if you do your research, you can easily learn what really works and what doesn't. I do own a red/NIR light panel, and I use it daily, following Mr. Whitten's advice and dosing schedule. I use mine to keep my hair thick, to keep my skin unlined, to promote collagen production, and to relieve joint pain after an accident. And, it does work. It has worked pretty quickly for me, but one does have to use it consistently, i.e., daily, preferably in the morning. (Red/NIR light can disrupt the sleep cycle if used at night.) I use my light for three minutes each day for my hair and face, and ten minutes each day for my joints at six inches away for both. Red/NIR light can even be used on pets, and Mr. Whitten tells us how to do that. All of this might seem like hype to some people. That's exactly what the pharmaceutical industry wants us to think. Can you imagine their losses if we all would be able to toss our pain meds, our antidepressants, our anti-aging serums, our muscle creams, etc.? As a year-long user of red/NIR light, I can tell you the good effects are not just hype. While every person may not see every good effect, and some pain, memory loss, etc., is beyond the reach of even red/NIR light, almost everyone can benefit, to some degree from red/NIR light therapy. And, best of all, there are no adverse side effects unless you overdo. If you want to look and feel younger and actually be healthier, read this book with an open mind, then get yourself a red/NIR light panel and try it out. I think you're going to love it. But, you do have to make that daily commitment.

Infrared is a magic bag
Infrared is a magic bag of positive effects for the body and the mitochondria. In essence, red and near infrared light ignites the motor of the cell and drives ATP production in the mitochondria.
