impressive microphone!
I’m a professional audiophile. I’ve spent many years working with microphones from all over the spectrum, cheap entry-level gear, cheap trash microphones, cheap microphones that are secretly awesome, boutique high-end microphones that end up being trash, standard “workhorse” mics from major manufacturers, and even rare vintage ribbon mics. I’m not a casual user. After using the Maono PD300X for about a month, I can confidently say this is hands down one of the best microphones at this price point. Originally, I intended to use it as a secondary recording microphone, for shaping instrument recordings, but after testing it for YouTube commentary, I was honestly surprised by how good it sounded. For my main test, I did not use the USB interface. Instead, I ran the XLR output into an external preamp and then into my audio interface. The results were excellent, clean, balanced, and far better than I expected for a microphone in this price range. I also tested it directly into the XLR input of a basic Focusrite interface, and again I was impressed. Now, I do know how to treat a recording space properly, so my room is controlled, but even so, I didn’t need to apply any noise reduction or filtering afterward. The recording was clean with essentially zero noise. If you're looking for a budget microphone capable of producing high-quality recordings for streaming, voiceovers, podcasts, or even music, this microphone is an excellent choice. You might find other microphones in this price range that are about as good, such as some models from Shure, but you're not going to find something better without spending more. Personally, I don’t care much about the mute button or extra onboard features, mainly because I already use dedicated recording equipment. However, I can absolutely see how useful those features would be for someone who wants high-quality audio without needing a full recording setup or complicated software. For that kind of user, this microphone is essentially plug it in and hit record. It couldn't be easier to set up. And it is not a super heavy mic either, any typical mic stand or arm should be fine as long as it isn't made out of paper. I highly recommend to connect it with the XLR and not with the USB, there are reasons that are beyond the scope of a review, and they're not scientific facts, but they're based off of Decades of working with recording equipment. Still I understand that a USB cable and a built-in preamp is super convenient for someone who just doesn't want to bother with it. That's fine too. However if you can avoid the usb, without much of a financial headache, use the xlr. That is my recommendation for any kind of microphone. You can get a cheap audio interface for $100. Either way whichever method you use, even the USB method, this mic is your microphone. Overall, I’m genuinely impressed. This microphone punches well above its price.

My experience with the most viral microphone on the internet
Suggested Title: Excellent Dynamic Microphone for Content Creators with Little to No Acoustic Treatment! I bought this microphone after watching several reviews on YouTube. I was looking for good quality at a reasonable price, and this one is quite affordable. While it is not professional studio gear, it is a dynamic microphone perfectly designed for use in untreated acoustic environments, as it has excellent background noise suppression (a noise gate). I have achieved professional-quality recordings that rival other more expensive brands. I currently own more costly microphones but don't have acoustic treatment for them, which was a huge hassle. This microphone has solved that problem perfectly. Strengths (Pros) Audio Quality: Excellent for its price range, ideal for podcasts, streaming, and voice-overs. Design for Untreated Spaces: Its dynamic pattern minimizes room noise, furniture sounds, and echoes. Build Quality: Constructed with solid metallic materials. It feels premium and durable. Controls: The buttons have a nice feel and work very well. The Only Disappointment (Cons) Accessories: This version DOES NOT include a desk stand or boom arm. You have to buy it separately, which increases the final cost (although I didn't want to spend more on the full kit). USB Cable: The included USB Type-C cable is a little short. Helpful Tip: About the USB-C Cable I suggested to the manufacturer that they include a longer cable and also took the opportunity to ask if the included cable could be replaced with a commercially available one. This was their response: "In response to your question, yes, you can replace the included USB cable with any high-quality USB-C cable that supports data transfer (not just charging). Using a good quality cable will ensure stable performance and prevent any impact on sound quality." One final detail is that it can be used in the traditional way with an XLR cable in analog mode, or with USB-C. It includes software compatible with the latter mode and some presets. Conclusion If you want to start creating content, have a small budget, and, most importantly, do not have acoustic treatment in your recording space, this is a great start and an excellent investment. Remember to do a little research to see if it fits your needs. Good luck to everyone!

Fantastic and Incredible
I got the MAONO PD300X mainly to talk with friends and play games, and it has been a big upgrade compared to regular headsets. My voice sounds crystal clear to others, with a fuller and more natural tone, and background noise is almost gone thanks to the noise reduction. The mic is easy to set up with USB, but it also has XLR if you ever want to use it with more advanced gear. The gain knob and mute button are super handy while gaming, and the monitoring option lets me hear myself so I know the sound is good before jumping into a call. The build feels sturdy and professional, even though I’m using it casually. For the price, it’s honestly impressive how good it sounds. If you want a microphone that makes you stand out in voice chat or while streaming, this is a fantastic choice.

Great beginner friendly mic
Great quality and software supported to easily fine tune the audio for your voice and use (gaming, podcasting, audio recording, etc.). The stand is okay, I installed mine on a boom arm from my previous mic with the included adapter. I've never done any sort of audio processing/editing, so it took me a couple hours to understand what each of the settings did. Once I figured it out, I was able to cut 99% of background noise and use my desk speakers without the audio backfeeding into the mic. The pickup is directional, so I recommend getting an arm that can aim the mic directly at your source for the best audio quality and noise canceling. I don't use the available XLR input, but it's an awesome feature if you have an audio mixer.

Versatile, great-sounding mic
As a newbie podcaster who came across Maono's affordable audio equipment, tried it, liked it, and became something of a loyalist, I was intrigued when they announced this and bought it from the brand directly on launch day. I've since purchased another because these things work great in pairs — a single (included) wireless USB dongle can accommodate two PD200W mics. The build quality is more plasticky than other Maono mics, especially the solidly built (and my personal fave) PD400X, but that helps with portability. I can stuff two of these plus their dongle and a Macbook in an ordinary backpack and it's pretty much a full recording setup. No cables, no preamp, no phantom power needed. Of course, the great thing about the PD200W is that you *can* fall back to USB or XLR if you prefer. Though I'm not a huge fan of the clunky Maono app, it does its job and handles firmware updates, equalizer, and mic configuration well enough once you figure out its quirks. I would love to see a more native Mac-like GUI and behavior on Maono's macOS app. On-mic/In-app noise reduction needs intervention on your part. There are three stages, and the most aggressive can leave the speaker sounding underwater. You'll need to dial it in along with the very adjustable gain. But once you find the sweet spot, it's (IMHO) a great sounding mic: warm, clear and intimate. Incidentally, the LED ring is gimmicky but kinda fun and is actually helpful when you're ID'ing mics at a glance during AV setup. It also doesn't seem to ding battery life severely. I can probably safely get eight hour-long recording sessions out of a single charge. The long and short is that, for the price, it's hard to beat this level of performance and these features. Hence the five stars and the PD200W becoming my mic of choice for most sessions. A higher sticker price would probably result in more than nit-picking on my part and dinging it a star. Pro tip: If you're a klutz and break the bespoke windscreen, the PD200X windscreens available on the Maono website (sadly, not here on Amazon) function as a slip-on replacement.

Maono PD300X Competes With BIG Name Microphone Companies!
I got the microphone last week & tested it on my laptop. The Maono PD300X looks like exactly like the microphone from an different company. But, it's mostly metal & I love that! The microphone is heavy & having an weak boom arm is a bad idea. Therefore, the mic will last for more than five years. It's all black & professional. The only thing it's plastic is the volume knob & less click than Maono PD200x. It has the software app & works like an charm. But, it'll take some time to get use to it. On USB mode, the software app has four EQ settings: podcast, live streaming, recording & gaming. I tried out the recording & sounds really good. In fact, it sounds like an expensive microphone. As for XLR mode, it sounds in between not too much bass & not too thin. In fact, I got Scarlett Vocaster One audio interface & it works with the microphone perfectly. One more thing, it has versatility in connectivity (USB/XLR). I'm not an audio engineer at all, just an average guy who loves microphones & want to grow with Maono PD300X. If you want an microphone that won't drain your wallet, last an long time, has options in connectivity & FOR beginners, Maono PD300x is the microphone for you.

A Great Mic at a Super Value!
UPDATE: I have now been using this mic for 9 months and still going with this mic. I recently did a video review of the webcam that I use and included a review of this mic. I did not use any sound enhancing so you can hear exactly what the mic sounds like. Hope this helps you make a decision. Just started my podcast and was looking for an affordable boom mic with great sound. The MAONO mic has been a great value. The sound is clear, it's easy to install and is easily recognized by Riverside. I also picked up a reasonably priced boom arm from MOANO to go with it. My cohost liked the sound so much that he also purchased another model mic from MOANO. We both highly recommend them.

Helpful customer support
The Maono PD300X is an impressive microphone with build quality and performance on par with industry leaders like Shure and Rode. The materials feel premium, the finish is excellent, and the sound quality is very impressive — perfect for professional use or serious content creators. I did run into a small issue when the USB-A to Lightning cable tip broke, which made the mic temporarily unusable. I contacted Maono's support by email, and within less than 24 hours, they had taken full charge of the situation. Due to limited availability in my region, they couldn’t send a replacement cable directly — but they instantly offered to reimburse the purchase of a new one. That kind of customer service is rare and deserves recognition. Special thanks to Krys from the support team for the quick and efficient help! Don’t hesitate — Maono offers the perfect combo: high-quality products at a very competitive price, backed by excellent customer service. Far from those brands that hide behind warranty terms and conditions... you know the story!

Excellent value for money
I was impressed before I opened the box. There was a quality control QR code at the top that correctly identified the product, reassuring me that this was exactly what I had purchased. The microphone was packed very well, giving it a high-quality feel. The box of accessories included a USB-C cable with a C-to-A adapter, which was handy. So too was the ring adaptor to fit the mic to different thread sizes on a stand. There is a useful, comprehensive manual, too. The mic itself is solidly built, and the shock mount is metal, providing good stability. I made a few test recordings that were of excellent quality, with no background noise. The software offers several useful controls. Overall, for the price, this is a first-rate piece of kit. Oh, and it looks professional too, so I'll be even more impressive on my calls and recordings...!
