## Description

API 4WW Water Wiggler Water Agitator for Bird Baths, Beige

Review: YOU NEED TO GET A WATER WIGGLER!! - A water wiggler is a requirement for a well functioning bird bath. 1. It runs constantly so that mosquitoes can't land on the water surface to lay eggs - this is a great thing. I saw another review say that this was a downside and they'd prefer a solar fountain to move the water instead. I'm here to tell you - I've had multiple solar fountains over the years. They require eay more upkeep to keep clean and because they can only run when the panel is hot by direct sunlight, they of course stop the water flow for about 2/3 of the day total, resulting in the perfect, stagnant breeding pool for mosquitoes. 2. Moving water attracts birds to drink and bathe way more than stagnant, still water. You WILL get much more bird activity at your bath with this device as opposed to a solar fountain because this one works 24/7. 3. Batteries (not included) are simple to install. I literally change the batteries like once every 6 months. I buy cheap $3 panasonic D batteries at a local discount store and they last forever. 4. Waterproofness - So long as you have properly tightened the gold screw on top to seal the top, it's extremely waterproof. Multiple times over the years, raccoons (I assume?) have tipped the wiggler over overnight, resulting in it being on its side - no damage, works perfectly, just set it back upright. 5. Metal legs - are the metal legs slightly annoying to install? A little. But believe me - it's 0 challenge compared to the YEARS of use you'll get out of this. I've gotten 3 over the years for multiple baths so far. The legs are a total nonissue so long as you simply follow the directions and don't fly off the handle at the SLIGHTEST inconvenience. I LOVE WATER WIGGLERS. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THEM FOR THEIR BIRD BATHS. THEY'RE SIMPLY INCREDIBLE, they WORK to prevent mosquito larvae and attract birds!
Review: Caulk the screw to extend its life - Just over a year ago, I decided to give the water wiggler a try for my bird bath. A year later, I'm not only still using it, but I've just ordered a second one for my other birdbath. That's a testament to its durability and value in my book. It's also worth mentioning that before I settled on this battery-powered water wiggler, I tried a couple of the solar-powered models. Unfortunately, they just didn't hold a candle to this one. With the solar models, I found they were too inconsistent, often not working when there was even the slightest cloud cover or shade. They also seemed less durable overall, struggling with any kind of fluctuation in weather. In contrast, the battery-powered water wiggler has worked dependably regardless of the weather or season. Even in the heart of winter, it kept the water moving, which was a big hit with the birds. So if you're debating between solar or battery-powered, based on my experience, I'd definitely suggest going with the battery-powered model. Now, I will say that while the device has proven to be surprisingly resilient, it's not without its flaws. The main issue is the water leakage through the top screw. This would make me hesitate to label the wiggler as completely waterproof. However, a bit of DIY ingenuity fixed this issue for me. I applied a small amount of caulk to the screw, and it's been smooth sailing (or should I say wiggling) ever since. I don’t think it’s worth subtracting a whole star for this, given how much better this one is compared to others on the market. But I’d give it a 4.8 if I could. One unexpected advantage I've noticed is the cleanliness of my birdbath water. I was initially interested in the wiggler for the birds' enjoyment, but it turns out this gadget also keeps the water fresher for longer. The constant movement inhibits the growth of mosquitoes and slows the accumulation of other detritus, which is a win in my book. In terms of bird enjoyment, there was a noticeable increase once the local birds got accustomed to the new water dynamics. It's been a pleasure to watch them frolicking and splashing about more energetically. In conclusion, despite a minor waterproofing issue, the water wiggler has proven to be a beneficial addition to my bird baths. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys watching birds and wants to maintain a cleaner birdbath with less effort. Just keep in mind, you may need a little caulk on hand to ensure the longest life for your wiggler.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make the holde for the legs deeper!
*by C***I on November 20, 2025*

This works well and really attracts birds with the water motion. Batteries last long. I run a bit of vaseline over the rubber edges while replacing batteries to keep the rubber supple. These last about a year - I have them out in winter too (heated bird baths). I've noticed they arent drilling the holes for the steel legs as deep. This is a pain while cleaning the bird baths because the legs fall on the ground. Racoons are fasc inated with the movement on my ground birdbath, so that water wiggler comes in at night. Bonus: extra parts are included.
