Many have used it with great success, but I've recently tried this along with a heat gun, and DuPont grey bumper trim paint on my 2000 Honda CR-V. I would recommend the DuPont bumper trim paint over everything else. Polytrol is uneven and very time consuming to get right. Although I'm sure it works on small applications, it will be very difficult to get right on large items, especially a bumper. **Q: How well does this work of exterior wood panel siding that has faded?** A: I used this on a red fibre glass chair and it has a strong chemical smell and it was creepy, a lot of work and sticky and it did not really work in my opinion. I didn't like it but I couldn't send it back, it's a poisonous liquid and I would have had to pay for shipping. If you can, spare yourself, and use a natural oil to bring back the lustre in your wood. **Q: Any special considerations for use on a thule rooftop box? Does this run un the rain or anything?** A: No this will not run in the rain. Make sure the area is clean and dry before application. Afetr applcation leave to dry for 24-48 hours before use **Q: Would this restore faded polywood furniture?** A: We are not sure it will work on Polywood as it very much depends on how much plastic is present in the product. It also depends on whether the polywood has a UV clear protective coating on it, which would prevent the Polytrol from getting at the colored surface underneath it. Ett måste i garaget !!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Door restore *by M***K on 3 November 2025* Very good product,highly recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Try this before buying a new front door *by T***7 on 27 May 2026* I have been waiting for the rain to hold up since I bought this last year. I have, or had, a very badly weathered black composite front door. It looked almost bleached in parts of the bottom panels and across the bottom. I was hoping that applying this polytrol would help a very shabby door look somewhat better. Without doubt, it has exceeded expectations. The door is glossy, and there are no white bits remaining. It even cleaned up the letterbox, handle and knocker. I applied it by brush first and then with a lint-free cloth, and I rubbed off the excess. I applied it in the morning when it was coolest and no direct sun. I was concerned that it would be a gloopy mess, especially since the temperature yesterday was so high and it was a little sticky into the evening. It was easy to apply and didn't drip. This morning I can see that some areas (the faux wood grain) where the weathering was so bad are a little lighter. I think rereading the instructions I could have left it a little longer (I probably left it 10 minutes working in sections) and worked into those areas a little more before wiping off. Definitely value for money. This was something I thought I'd try before reluctantly buying a new door - I really didn't want all the hassle that goes with it either. You only need a relatively small amount so I have loads of the tin left ready for the next time. I used it on the door furniture and the security lights, so very handy and versatile.
