Blazing-fast storage upgrade for Nintendo Switch 2 – reliable, spacious and worth the price (5★)
I’ve been using SanDisk storage for years across cameras, gaming devices and computers, and once again it didn’t disappoint. This 512GB microSD Express card was purchased specifically for my Nintendo Switch 2, and after about a month of use I can confidently say it’s one of the best upgrades you can make for the console.Speed is the first thing you notice. Games load quickly, downloads feel noticeably faster and everything runs smoothly. Compared with standard microSD cards, this Express version really is in another league – you can feel the difference when installing or launching larger titles. With modern Switch 2 games getting heavier in size, moving to 512GB was absolutely the right decision. I also have a 256GB card, but the extra space on this one makes a huge difference and gives real peace of mind.Build quality is exactly what I expect from SanDisk: solid, reliable and consistent. I’ve used many brands over the years including Samsung and Sony, but SanDisk remains the most dependable for me. Speeds and performance match what’s advertised, which isn’t always the case with cheaper alternatives. This is one of those situations where paying slightly more actually saves hassle in the long run.The card works flawlessly with Nintendo Switch 2 and is ideal for digital libraries, large modern games and even high-resolution video storage. It also feels reassuring knowing it’s built to handle heat, drops and general everyday use.Price isn’t the lowest on the market, but for 512GB of fast, reliable storage from a trusted brand it feels justified. If anything, I’d always recommend going bigger rather than cheaper — especially with newer games taking up so much space. Subscription pricing on Amazon can make it a bit more affordable too.Overall, this is an easy 5-star recommendation. Fast, stable, high-quality and from a brand I trust. If you’re upgrading storage for Nintendo Switch 2, this is a superb choice.

Long-term review of SanDisk microSD Express in a Nintendo Switch 2 Console
I'm always cautious about reviewing any type of electronic storage without testing it over an extended period of time. After all, one of the most important purchasing factors for any type of storage is "will my data be safe and secure".That is why I am now reviewing this SanDisk microSD Express card, having purchased it in November 2025 and using it in my Switch 2 for the past 8 months or so.Although the Switch 2 comes with a decent amount of storage compared to the first Switch, given the size of some Switch 2 titles such as Final Fantasy VII and the introduction of Game Key Cards, additional storage is once more an essential purchase.I had initially purchased a 256GB MicroSD, thinking that it would suffice for at least a year or two until 1TB solutions became more affordable. However, after less than six months of Switch 2 ownership, I had already consumed almost all of that space and it became clear that a larger MicroSD card would be a more immediate requirement than I had planned.Since Switch 2 games have much greater data bandwidth requirements than those for Switch 1, you must purchase a MicroSD Express card, rather than a MicroSD. The increase in speed is of course a plus point over the standard cards, but price and available storage size are two big negatives. This SanDisk card was the first 512GB card that I had seen in the UK for a reasonable price, and although 1TB cards were available, they weren't offering the same value as this card, and seemed out of the reach of reasonable affordability.I've had a lot of SanDisk memory solutions over the years and have always found them to be one of the more reliable brands, and this memory card certainly cements that belief, having performed solidly since first being put to use last November. Performance in games seems flawless, I don't believe I've experienced any issues in games that were down to the storage and although I've not verified the read/write rates, it certainly gives the impression that it's performing as it should.Overall, I can thoroughly recommend this MicroSD card for Switch 2 users, I can certainly see it lasting a while longer for myself, until the inevitable need for more storage comes around - hopefully when prices normalise somewhat!

Perfect for the Switch 2
I bought this 512GB card specifically for my new Nintendo Switch 2, and it works flawlessly. Since games are so massive now, extra storage is an absolute necessity.Load times are incredibly fast—it feels just as quick as the console's internal storage. It is definitely worth the investment if you want a seamless gaming experience without any loading lag. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Works for the Nintendo Switch 2
I bought this for my Nintendo Switch 2 since it was running out of space. Works great and fast. I moved all of my games to the sd card and they run flawlessly.Compared to the speed of opening or closing a game it the same speed or sometimes faster than the Nintendo Switch 2

I got this to use for my Switch 2. The read speed works great for it. And was able to work great. Only down side is the price I would say best to wait for a sale I wish I did. When using it on the Switch 2 was able to Format no problem.

Does what it says on the tin
Can't wait for these to go down in price. Bit silly of Nintendo to launch their latest console with the latest in SD cards. Super over pirced because card is new and console is even newer. Still hopefully in time this will become a lot more affordable so I can enjoy my Switch 2 a lot more.Item came as described and works with the Switch 2 as described. Will buy again when on a good deal

A good card if you find it at a reasonable price
I had bought this card for my nintendo switch 2 console. I am pleased with the quality. The packaging is different now and its a bit more bulky and not flat like a disk how they were before (I think this applies to all lineup products of sandisk).I couldn't test exactly the speeds but the console accepted it and it works as advertised. It is a bit slower in my load tests than the internal memory of the switch but this is expected as the switch 2 internal memory is ufs 3.1. I tested moving mario kart world and kirby air riders, both are 3-4 seconds slower on the sd card but it is still acceptable as loading timeI had one issue with the switch 2 as it forced me to reset console when I first moved my games intro the sd card as I have not moved all of them and several nintendo switch 1 games got corrupted. The fix for me was a console reset (not with delete personal data, just reset to delete all games), but the easiest that I found on the internet is move all your games to the sd card and then move back what you want to be on the internal storage. If this doesn't work, the reset without deleting personal info is the way to go.I recommed moving all games on the sd card unless they are digital/game key card only switch 2 games that do use the full speeds of the switch 2 internal memory. If you use cartige games, leave updates on the sd card as they will not impact the loading times since the console reads the game from cartige and that is slower than the other storages anywayAll in all, a good card with enough capacity and I hope they get cheaper as time goes by
