The left motor shaft notch is 180 degrees off. Can this be rotated somehow or is it defective?

It might just be in the opposite position you should be able to turn though, if not turn your step/hinge.

Will they work? i have a 2011 f150 harley-davidson edition with the factory power running boards. will these motors work for my boards?

I just got done installing on on my 2011 F-150 platnum driver's side. It does work however, it was a bear to change, best bet is remove the running boards completely and take the cover off motor to turn armature to get the bolts all in. Finally after all that and reinstall... It seems weaker than the factory passenger side. It struggles to go up when I park. I have been just using my foot to help it along. Other than that I am pleased overall with it.
