Bell Hooks is such an inspiration to me. I love reading her work!!! I receive new perspectives and new ways of thinking each time.

This was an incredible book to read and I would recommend it to everyone, both men and women. For me, it felt like an enlightment a happy way to understand that I am not weird, but women are evolving and developing in different ways tan many years ago and so the same life development cant be expected. That through self development, women have come to expect and desire more, and unfortunately not many men are willing to cope with it. But also to realice that some are, and that those men are worth looking for but that even if you cant find a man (for those who are heterosexual). Life is still great, through self development and friendships.

I think this book may have just changed the trajectory of my life and I am so grateful. Thank you Bell Hooks for writing this beautiful work and inspiring future generations of women! 🩷

I love this book so much.

As a white guy, I always love learning from bell hooks. This book is no different. I highly recommend it.

This book was a salve for a broken heart in the process of mending itself. It was advice I lacked, unknown to the elder women in my life or at least unspoken. bell is a welcome ghost who speaks with wisdom that should be shared intergenerationally and with all genders. I hope she haunts us for eternity.

I know that there's some men that can push back on a few of her points but this book is so worth the read and I'm proud to have this book as a reference.

Several pages have faded ink. Still readable but annoying. The book itself is amazing so far, ive read a little over half

A life changing read for women and people socialized as women/girls/femmes. Filled with thoughtful insight and deeply informed theory presented in an accessible, useful, and affirming way. Highly, highly, highly recommend if it piques your interest.
