This is the first step ladder, I have used many, I have owned that was designed and built with safety in mind. I will name the reasons as follows: it is made from quality materials and avoids the use of plastic at critical structural connections, it is quite wide affording stable contact and room for heavy shoes, the treads are deep and wide assuring that each one is a stable comfortable place to stand, the flip up grab bar allows for three point of contact with the ladder, the treads include ribs for traction in wet conditions, the ladder folds fairly flat for storage, the feet are large enough to grip the standing surface well, and the ladder is lightweight. All that said, the ladder is a little awkward to carry, this is not a deal breaker. It needs a carry strap/stay closed strap. My advice, pay the extra money for this one and stay safe while elevating. Fit for home and professional use

My wife and I are both 85 years old and, when we need to get up in the air, we need a safe, secure step stool with a bar for gripping on to. (remember what they say. "When climbing a ladder you need to keep THREE contact points on the ladder at all times." This ladder/stool fits the bill. It is heavy duty, a little more expensive than others, nice broad steps, and easy to fold and store. With proper care this 3 step stool will last a lifetime. VERY HAPPY.

A: I have the 3 step model, the top step is 2ft 2in. from ground.  I believe they also have a 4 step and a 2 step model.

**Q: what is the height of the top step from the ground?**
A: From the floor to and including the top step is 26 1/2 inches.

A: The steps are 8.5 inches deep and 13.75 inches wide.

At 67 years old, living alone for the past eleven years, am to the point of not feeling safe on average step ladders. In fact, fell off a ladder while trimming a tree. Luckily just missed landing on top of riding lawn mower. Even though I was a little hurt, could have caused some serious damage. Decided to purchase a new one and came across this gem. Am extremely confident every time I use it. Light weight, wide steps, foldable for easy storage, along with top handrail making me feel so safe leaning into it with body pressed against it while reaching up. They also come in different sizes, yet the 3 step is perfect for reaching my ceiling height of 7 & 8 feet high. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe, light weight heavy duty ladder. It really is a perfect addition to my household maintenance equipment.
