Yona of the Dawn, Vol. 16

I absolutely love this series, I just purchased 1-40 because I could finally do so and it is so worth it! The anime really just gives you a teaser about the grand scheme of whats going on and the volumes just build on it. Its filled with moments that have made me laugh, cry, and want to throw my book across the room haha! The characters are so well done and how they deal with all the complexities in the story is amazing and I cannot wait to purchase the new volumes as they get translated. (I plan on leaving this review on as many volumes as Amazon lets me)

This was one of the best volumes yet it everything good going for it. The characters were amazing there was great development especially with Yona she has come a long way from the beginning. The story was amazing it continues with the drug smugglers and there is a lot of tension with Yona and Su Won it gets worse once Hak sees him and tries to kill him and has to be stopped by others looking forward to reading more.

Between Kohka improving and the strained relationship between the childhood friends, this volume has so many strong emotions in it in which all of them are so different. The writing and art executes them so well. I honestly feel for nearly every character in these difficult situations.

I keep current with the Japanese releases of AkaYona, so I've read well beyond volume 16, but it's still one of my absolute favorites in the whole series. This volume reveals a lot about Hak's feelings regarding Su-won's betrayal, which is something that's always sat backstage to Yona's experience until this point. And it is just absolutely heart-wrenching. Hak is already a fantastic and well written character, but this volume adds a whole new dimension to that. There's a whole lot more going on in this volume aside from Hak's development, too. Definitely a must read.

As always this book left me speechless. Such a good read. The heart ache. Oh… the feels!!! Hak!!!! Rip my heart out why don’t you!

Great series, like another reviewer I have been keeping up with the chapters as they are released in Japan. Yona of the Dawn is definitely one of my favorites!

~4 Stars Finally, the confrontation between Hak and Su-Won. Yona's been dealing with it without causing conflict, but by watching and being guarded. Hak has a very different reaction, because his main worry is protecting and avenging Yona. No one else understands what's happening until later. After that big moment, they seem to forget about Hyo. They've dealt with him somewhat, and it seems like they're leaving Riri to help with what she can without them. I do appreciate that Riri has grown stronger, how Yona was able to help her and impress upon her. It was a good relationship for both of them, I think. I'm still a bit conflicted about Su-Won. I want to hate him, but he also appears conflicted. He did what he thought he needed to, but he still has a bond with Yona and Hak, and he doesn't seem to want to hurt them. That doesn't mean he won't, though. It's hard to tell what he plans next and what he's willing to do. I'm a bit confused by the ending of the plot with Hyo, because Su-Won seemed to take all of the rest of the volume. I'm not sure where they're going next. Most recent manga for my Yona collection and it’s amazing. Would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good manga to read.

I orederd yona of the dawn volumes 11-15 and they came in grat shape, The one star missing is not because the vvolume is bad but more so that it was damaged. I bought this volume on it own so the corner of the books were pelling since it was in thoses bags. So if you do buy the book I say buy them 5 at a time so none get damaged and there put in a box.
