Really tasty ple. They dont have a lot of meat but the gravy is delicious. Ideal for a quick meal. I think £2.50 is not too much to pay if you dont want a heavy meal, once you added the vegetables you have a tasty dinner.the pie looks good and the pastry rises as it cooks to a light flaky top crust. Cooks in 30 minutes. I consider it good value for money and have a variety of the pies.

You really can’t beat a Fray Bentos for convenience. It’s the perfect "emergency" meal to keep in the cupboard for when you want something hot and filling without any effort. The puff pastry lid is definitely the highlight—it rises really well in the oven and gets that classic flaky, golden finish. The chicken filling is decent, with a good amount of gravy that soaks into the bottom layers of the pastry. Just a tip: make sure you use a good tin opener to get the lid off cleanly, and leave it in for the full recommended time to make sure the pastry in the middle cooks through. For a quick, nostalgic dinner that hits the spot every time, it’s great value.
