Would be nice if you could change the temperature units. It makes a low humming noise when connected so that might be an issue? definitely tested with gas and it worked pretty well.

Eh, keep shopping around... The sensors were not as sensitive as I had hoped for, and even worst is the temperature sensor isn't accurate. Which doesn't incite confidence - in my basement I have thermopro temp sensor reading 64 degrees +/- and I had one of the gas sensor plugged in next to the HVAC and much lower and was reading 76 degrees. Tested the gas sensor with a lighter and it was not very sensitive to a butane torch blowing gas straight at it within 4 inches.

Natural gas has an odor and this alarm is listed as a natural gas detector. I wanted it in my laundry room since we often close the doors. I don't know if a safe way to test how sensitive it is but if there were a gas leak you would smell it. This isn't a carbon monoxide alarm. Carbon monoxide is odorless and natural gas stinks. Build quality is okay, nothing creaks. The test button is on the front. The beep is definitely noticeable but not as loud as I thought. Nowhere near as loud as a smoke detector. You can easily talk over it. The display lights up and shows humidity and temperature as well as the gas level. I wish the alarm were louder though since we often close the doors in that room. Our dryer has a significantly louder buzzer than this. I think we better keep the door cracked open since I doubt I would hear this alarm over the dryer from upstairs. I can definitely hear my dryer though. That buzzer lets the world know when my laundry is done.
