These bags are very thin, yet sturdy enough to hold fairly heavy food scraps. They do a good job of keeping odors under control . These bags don’t have handles, but can be tied in a knot if need be for taking out to outside compost pile, etc. their thinness insures they will break down fairly quickly!

I love these bags for being compostable. They work great in our 2.5 gal compost bin. I have not had any collapse from compost wetness (to this point) and we've used them for over a year.

These bags fit perfectly in my countertop composting bin and are a great value for the price. I usually go through this size pack in ~ 1 year. To maximize their lifecycle and strength over time, I find it works best to minimize exposure to air and light. My trick for doing this is to NOT Open the box and instead just cut a small hole in the top and pull out each bag as needed. This means that exposure to light and air flow is minimized particularly for all bags except the top one in the cue. Using this approach I have been able to avoid noticeable degradation for 2+ years, at which time the bags were all used Not sure how long this could have worked because I ran out of bags before I saw any issues!

Bags do leak. Just the right size for my small compost bin.

These work well as long as you are sure to rinse out all food waste and minimize moisture dropped into the trash. They break down QUICKLY, which is bittersweet. Obviously, these bags were created to break down in landfills to minimize the amount of petro-chemical/plastic products filling up our local pits. The ability to breakdown is what I'm going for...and some products tend to take waaaaay too long to do so. I LOVE the fact these breakdown quickly. The onus is on the purchaser to adapt their refuse workflow to the product. Our family composts, does not eat dairy and only minimal meat products. This immensely limits the amount of non-recyclable or compostable waste we drop into the trash. Given this, we take about 7-10 days to fill one of these bags with a family of 5. I would say the bag starts to break down (due to moisture added with the waste) in 4-5 days. I've been diligent to move up our time table to taking out the waste every 4-5 days and have been pretty good. There was one occurrence of the bag breaking down extremely quickly (2 days) but this was due to thanksgiving guests not familiar with our workflow and dropping food into the waste-bin. Uncool, but I can't blame them for not knowing our needs and wants for the environment. I think the only thing I would want for these bags (thus the 4 star review) would be to redesign the top to have tie tabs. Not a drawstring, but just that curved shape to help users with 4 tie down spots.

These are truly compostable and that is important to me. Do be aware that they are SO compostable that you need to empty your container frequently or these bags begin to break down in your container. We love these and have made the purchase many times. Will continue to use - we will just continue to empty the compost container frequently!

I use these in my compostable liners in my compost bin. They meed out counties requirements. they are perfect size and thick enough to no rip.

They work great for dog waste

Size is good for family of 4 that cooks 2 meals per day. It's made in USA and materials are decomposable, quality is guaranteed and feel like creating less burden to the environment lol

They are very strong!! I used to use Glad bags more expensive and always ripped just putting them in the container Waste of money!! These are amazingly strong Great purchase!! Just did my second purchase!!

Bags are a bargain compared to the old compostable bags that we were using. The only small con is the bottom of the bags are made awkwardly. Doesn’t affect the function of the bag though.
