Schaum's Outline of Engineering Mechanics Dynamics

THis book was very helpful, it adds a different prospective from what my teacher gave us. All of the worked problems help you see the steps taken to solve all the problems in the chapters. Overall great book

The problems are an excellent scatter of many techniques and types. However, the solutions often go to numerical substitution much earlier in the algebraic process than I like. Usually in physics, the symbolic representations of values like mass, gravity, angular speed are left as"m", "g", and "omega" until the last step. This book tends to substitute 9.8 m/s^2 for gravity or the number value of a term right away. So the solution looks like disjoint algebra at the end.

Very useful. A lot of problems and covers all the basics. You will definitively get a better grade in your class

Very useful tool. I have used this product to help me remember the concepts of dynamics learned many years ago.

Not exaclty as helpful as I thought it would be for Dynamics. There is a lot left desired in this book. Other Schaum's books have been much more helpful. There are some sections where it's helpful, but overall it wasn't as helpful as the textbook generally. Dynamics is a quite tough class in engineering and a first real introduction to Newton's 2nd Law - F = ma and it's MANY applications.

Enjoyed the book in all of its goodily goodness. Cozy up to the warm glow of the computer screen and dive in to the wonderful and exciting world of Mechanics, Dynamic... Delicious.

I've used Shaum's Outline for my math and engineering courses. It's a Great Resource if you want to review Dynamics It provides practice problems and solutions.

A huge number of typos. Nothing really explaind. The book only works as additional material, if you have learned everything, you know all the formulas and you only need to solve the problems. As an independent material for studying the topic - a complete failure.

Very informative... Text books should be like this, I have just started doing some exercises, but it is explained and easy to understand, and this book costs so little that it would be crazy not to get it, because it is such a useful book.

this book is great introduction to materials and structural mechanics, I love the worked examples and the explanations are clear

The two things which make this a good text book is its price and its content. These books are usually reasonably priced and the material covers everything you need in a first year engineering course unlike some other books on the subject. However,the theory is only adequate and the problems usually throw you in the deep end. There is plenty of solved and unsolved problems to do though.
