Effective, compact and highly portable, perfect for winter-time business travel and will slip into any pocket in your briefcase or backpack. Solid value for those of us who need a little help "getting up and going" in the winter time. Runs off any USB-C, this is good to go. I need help in the wintertime and value these Happy Lights. I have had an original Verlux Happy Light for many years now, and it has been essential to me making it through the winter time productively. I have been in a high pressure career for decades where almost every day is "go-go-go" and I simply can't afford the luxury of basking in the hazy shade of winter as I would like. Keeping the original light right at my desk has been of huge value to me, and it's still going strong to this day. A few months ago I was lucky enough to find another one at a thrift shop, and installed it on my night stand - some mornings I think it's the only reason I can make it to the gym in the mornings. However, none of these original halogen ones are at all portable, so when I had to travel for a week of full day meetings in Novembr I knew I would want some help. I was very happy to find this portable light. It's quite thin and portable, easily slipping into my briefcase, and runs off a USB-C cable off my travel charger. What really impressed me about it is the high output - actually stronger than my old halogen ones. I could place it on the hotel dresser, and still get plenty of light in the mornings as I got dressed for my meetings. It took gave me the "get up and go" I needed to hit the hotel gym before work, and stay alert and functional all day. I consider it a solid value for the money, and is now part of my permanent wintertime "go kit" for travel. Although I don't have any basis of refernece for other portable lights, I have built trust in the Verilux brand over the years and can recommend this one.

The theory is that the light provides an alteration in brain chemistry that counteracts seasonal affective disorder. I don’t know if that’s true, but it has no side effects and it certainly doesn’t hurt. There are apparently studies that support it. I haven’t read them and can’t comment. The device itself is small, light, easy to use and well made.

I love my Verilux Happy Light Lux so much that I bought these mini-lights as gifts for my loved ones. This light is very lightweight, compact and portable, but despite its size, it really does an effect job. It emits a very bright light. While it doesn’t offer all of the same features as the full sized version, this is a great product.

Very handy and bright. However, the power button quickly became harder to press to turn on the HappyLight.

After months of use it was a great light for the majority of winter until the light started flickering and the power button stopped functioning. Otherwise, the light is very bright and is a nice boost on dark winter mornings.

I bought this light for my desk after realizing the larger one I got only had a wall plug. I don't have enough outlets near my desk and I needed a USB connection. I also needed a smaller light to take with me on a recent trip, and this one did not disappoint. It was very easy to pack and came with a wall adapter so I could plug it in where I was staying. The only issue I have with it is that the timer button isn't very sensitive and I often have to tap it several times to get it to work, but it's not a deal breaker. I could always set a timer on my watch if it became too much of a nuisance. It is extremely bright. It does get a little warm after 15 minutes of use, but it doesn't seem to overheat or anything.

I’ve ordered two. Both times the charging port was loose so it would only intermittently turn on. Also it needs to stay plugged in to turn on which isn’t great for my purposes. When it did work, it was great, especially the compact size. Very disappointing

Very pleased. Amazing brightness; tiny size! Packs right up in my work bag. A coworker saw it and asked for the link; he bought it right then and there. I'm going to buy another one. Down with SAD!

Perfect size to deliver enough light but easy to handle at the same time. As a bonus it can be powered by a standard 5V USB port/charger which can reduce clutter when used at desk. This is a huge feature for me, allowing me to leave my USB wire routed neatly at my desk when I bring the panel to the couch and power it with a different USB / power bank. Very glad I replaced the larger one with this and I will likely buy another for downstairs when back in stock. Use a tablet arm to position it a few inches from your face. Takes some getting used to working with a light in your face but minimum distance is crucial if you want results Minor complaints: I really dont like the physical design (of all the Verilux lights). The buttons on some models are tiny and hard to press. This one has larger buttons that are very sensitive but located on the light panel so you have to look right into the light to change anything. I would prefer mechanical switches which feel better and would pair well with a timer. The other minor complaint is that the USB cord sticks straight out the back - I would prefer if it was on the edge like a smartphone or reader.

Great, small product. But the power button doesn’t always work (especially when trying to turn off) so I have to unplug it. It also heats up quite a bit, so be careful of touching it right after use.

I love how compact this is but unfortunately- the unit overheats and so does the plug inserted in the wall. I had to return this because I was afraid of my house being set on fire! I wished it worked without the overheating. I returned this and bought a new one which works great and no worries of having my house in ashes.
