The majority of the time it is not painful.

Allergic to paper tapes - is this paper tape?

It is a gauze tape all around the larger piece of gauze is how I would describe it. I would not describe it as paper tape. My husband can't use plastic type bandaids so he uses these, but I just got up and opened one and this is how I describe them. I hope this helps.
