This carrier was much more sturdy than one I had used before, and though he did rip the lining a bit the way it was made so he could not actually rip the zipper. We use this on a flight across country with him. We have to turn it on its back to get it under the seat for the flight. A suggestion for the company,would be for them to make a hole for the perch to be able to be moved to the bottom of the cage For flying, once the backpack has to be turned and laying on its backside. We just slid the grate down on the bottom and he was able to use the grate as his Flooring while flying. The bigger cage would’ve been too big, but this did work for an Amazon and would work for an African gray, that size. Delta is the only airline that will fly a bird. $99 each way. Better if you get the premium seat with more room. But I did also work on my smaller flight They kind of go into a little trans are actually pretty quiet during the flights.

I used this when my husband and I were traveling with our Orange Winged Amazon parrot this past fall. It was hot outside and so we could not leave her in the car when we went to a restaurant or shopping. This was the perfect solution. She didn't love it when we took her on a practice walk in it before the trip, but she did love going to restaurants and shopping with us during the trip. We removed the wire bottom as it added weight and she doesn't go onto the bottom anyway.

We both the older version 3 years ago & use it on a regular basis. Our birds did begin to chew on the mesh on 1 side so we decided to up grade to the newer version. I like the new material & higher perch & water bottle option. Only downside is that there is less overall windows or mesh for the bird to see out. (Grey is old, blue is new)

I bought this carrier to take my little boy bird on his final outing before he went to Heaven. His friend fit in there perfectly with him and they traveled together on my boy’s final journey. Had no issues with it and it was easy to assemble. I think the plastic window should look like new when you clean it though.
