This is the commuter scooter you are looking for.
The S2R plus is very well thought out. I have been scooter-commuting for four years and this one is very good. It makes significant improvements over the old S2R which I previously used. Most reviews talk about battery life or acceleration, and I'll get to those but, but I don't really think they are the most important issues. If you haven't used a scooter for commuting, you might not know, but replacing tires is a huge problem. Changing most scooter tires is arduous. Doing it yourself is very difficult. Most bike shops won't even try it. Dedicated scooter repair people charge well over $100. After a replacing the tires a couple times, you have spent more than the cost of the scooter itself. The S2R plus fixes the problem by making the wheels easy to disassemble and reassemble around the tire. I had to do this for the first time this week and it was straightforward and required only an Allen wrench and screwdriver. Many scooters have both an electric brake and a disk brake but put the controls on different levers. Sounds good but under normal circumstances you only use the electronic brake, so you only build muscle memory for that one. When the disk break is needed you don't pull it. The S2R plus combines them into one lever improving safety. This scooter is also light enough to carry upstairs in one hand, very useful since my office isn't on the first floor. Ok, now the stuff people always talk about: The max speed of 19mph is good. I wouldn't really want to go faster than that. My state caps bike lane vehicles at 20mph anyway. The real useable range at full speed is only OK. It's about 7-10 miles when cold or 15 when warm. The thing is, my commute is only about 5 miles so it's good enough. I can charge at work when it's really cold. If your commute is 10+ miles this scooter might not be for you. The motor is 350W. It's... good enough. It gets up to 19mph well enough, but it slows down a bit going up even small hills. I'm not a huge person and my city is very flat, but if either of those are different for you, you might need to go up a tier. This is a great scooter. The engineers are clearly thinking things through. For the price, it might be the best scooter. As long as it's a good fit for your personal commute situation, this is the scooter you are looking for.

Saves from Payng for 2 parking spaces
Wonderful for College Students or spouses if they work several blocks from each other and pay for one parking space in municipality garage, Folds up and take into office.

Nice to have integrated brakes
Nice scooter, good value. Battery could use more capacity.

Bomb-Proof!
I bought the S2R Plus during Prime Day in 2024 so it's been about a year now and a good time for a review. Upon buying it, I really didn't think too much about it because I just wanted an electric scooter to keep in my car as emergency transportation or just to kick around with. Well, here we are a year later and this little scooter became my #1 means of transportation from the get-go. I have put so many countless miles on this thing and makes getting around downtown a breeze...I rarely ever drive my car! I have fitted it with a custom rack, which I often strap large packages of water bottles/cans as well as a storage bag on the stem which will accommodate various Items as well, so really, this thing serves as a little SUV as well. From the pics, you can clearly see that I don't take much care of it either. I mean, this thing is banged-up and crunchy! I know it's terrible but I never, ever service it nor clean it. I have even ridden through heavy rainfall and deep puddles and just let it drip-dry and it hasn't failed me once...fires right up. I've dropped it and even had a few serious wipe-outs on it as well, but it hasn't affected anything whatsoever. That being said, I would not hesitate to buy a used one if I ever needed another one or if I ever wanted to upgrade. The cons, if any, is battery life on this particular model isn't great but I bought this model for its light weight so clearly, the battery's capacity will diminish because of this. I did, however, buy the additional, swap-out battery, which I swap out frequently, so I've always got a battery fully charged and ready to go. I also bought an additional charger which I hook it up to while I'm at work, so I'm always topped off as well...problem solved. And if I ever anticipate exceeding the battery's duration, I can always throw the spare battery in a backpack and take it along with me. I've been meaning to write this review for a while now but I just haven't got around to it but I'm glad I put it off until now because even if this little scooter was to fail on me right after I post this review, I know that I got far more than what I bargained for.

Popped tires and terrible customer support
I’ve had the scooter for over a little week now and been traveling roughly 1-2 miles each day sporadically throughout the day. Woke up one morning to a flat tire. Frustrated I reached out to hiboy and they gave me a 1 sentence response of replace inner tube. Without any experience i spent a few hours trying to replace it. And when i finally got it it turned out to be popped as well. I’m extremely frustrated because I used it for just a week just to have both tires pop on me and terrible customer support. Was super excited to finally have a working electric scooter, just to find out Hiboy has awful durability.

Great customer service and value for money
We have been extremely impressed with this scooter. We actually bought two in August. Our boys are not easy on them and they have needed repairs on the tires. The company has honored their year long warranty each time I have reached out via email with no hesitancy and sent replacement parts. Our boys have been very happy with them.
