Im a great believer in acupuncture and massage so decided to give this acupressure mat a go. I wanted to be able to have something at home and also to get a good one so decided to go for a Shakti after doing my research. I love their ethos and I started in the level one, the first step for beginners. At first it can be quite painful. I couldn’t cope with the pain during my first try so I wore a thin layer of clothing, gradually reducing it until I could manage the discomfort. It was uncomfortable initially but the feeling after using it is worth it! It eases tension and pain by encourages blood flow to the area. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and so far it has definitely improved my sleep. Im all for alternative wellness wherever possible and now use it in my daily routine before bedtime. The mat comes with instructions and if you download their app it gives you short videos on how to get the best out of your mat and a great product guarantee! I’d definitely give it a go if you want to try alternative therapy.

A good quality and stress relieving sheet

My wife and I are obsessed with our Shakti mat and now use daily. Provides relief from back and neck tension and after consistent use can feel like it is having a more lasting effect. First couple of uses are painful but once you power through, the warm release is totally worth it and has almost a meditative effect.

I purchased the level 2 and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I adjusted to it. Don’t get me wrong, it is uncomfortable initially, but the benefits really do outweigh the temporary feeling as you adjust. The first few minutes are the most intense in terms of stinging, but after that, it gets less until you feel super relaxed it’s almost meditative. Deep breath work is key. Your mind just melts away all thought as you enjoy the feeling of being inside of your body! I look forward to getting on my mat each night. I use it on my bed before I go to sleep. So far I’ve managed an hour. It’s such an amazing wellness tool, I can’t recommend it enough. I’m going to purchase the pillow for my neck, as the mat doesn’t go as far as the shoulders. You can even take it away with you as it easily folds into a case or bag.

Was a bit sceptical about paying the price for the original mat, but now find i fall a sleep for over 45mins totally relaxed and feeling the pressure points being treated. I suffer with lower back pain and muscle ache in neck and shoulder, i find this helps with treating the issues. It will take time for me to fully recover I hope, but using alternative treatment does help.

Can only assume the people that lay on this thing with no clothing on are basically just dead inside. There's nothing relaxing or therapeutic about it. It looks like you're going to lay on a mat covered in the plastic equivalent of drawing pins and unsurprisingly, that's exactly what it feels like. I did not lay on it, suddenly become incredibly relaxed and fall asleep only to wake up half an hour later like some are claiming to do. I had a t-shirt on, laid on it for all of about ten seconds before swearing at it, rolling it back up and sticking it in the cupboard where it's remained ever since. I'll stick to massages instead.

Given the price, I was skeptical, but I read the reviews and decided to try it. To state the obvious, the points are very sharp, and they hurt! It only hurts for a few minutes. I started with 10 minutes and worked up to 20 minutes within the first two weeks. Now I can fall asleep on this thing. It still hurts for the first few minutes, but it is worth sticking with. My back pain has significantly reduced since I’ve started using this. I also noticed more movement in my lymphatic system. I have also experienced better sleep quality. The quality of this product is terrific as it’s handmade. Finally, my favorite part of using the Shakti mat is the life lesson it gives. Sometimes, you have to endure a small amount of pain to appreciate the pleasure it brings truly. If you can endure 3-4 minutes of pain, your body will begin to heal, and you will experience the relief that comes with it.

So good. Start with a light material shirt but have now stepped up to straight skin. You need to focus at the start but once you get through the first few minutes of discomfort it fades away and feels amazing. Stick it out to gain the rewards.
