Mario Sports Mix

I am a 42 yr. old gamer and I think game is pretty fun game even when soloing. Don't mind what the critics say when they compare it to the other Mario sports games, and say it's not as good as those games. In my opinion it's just as good, and as much fun as the other Mario sports games, and was an awesome added bonus to my Mario sports collection. No they don't have all the mini games, and a bunch of unlockables like the other Mario sports games that are dedicated to the one sport, but that doesn't mean it isn't just as fun to play. The graphics, sounds, controls and characters and their unique abilities are just as good as the other Mario sports games I have. I got this game mostly for the dodgeball game. I have always loved the Super Dodgeball game so I figured this should be just as awesome with the Mario characters, and it definitely was. The other sports games on this had me a little skeptical about playing, but once I played them I realized how much fun they were as well. The controls were very good with the Wii remote, and actually kind of surprised me how smooth they were. I Suggest getting this game from Amazon warehouse deals in like new condition, it was great deal . The one I got from them looked like it was never even played, and even came with the old nintendo club code. Everything that the came with it looked brand new, even smelled new. I rarely buy Wii games used but seeing as this game is going for such a high price brand new, I could only afford this game used. Before buying this I wished I would have bought it last year brand new when it was a much lower price, but the like new condition I got it from Amazon for about the same price made me very happy. If you love anything Mario then this is a must have game to add to your collection in my opinion.

There is no question that there are so many ways to enjoy Mario over the past 30 years. It is hard to believe that 2011 makes the 30th Anniversary of Mario when he made his debut as Jumpman in the Donkey Kong games. Since then, and with the joy of celerating Super Mario Brothers last year for its 25th anniversary, many gamers have looked to him more than any game that is always going to deliver. That isn't just with adventure as we've seen last year with Super Mario Galaxy 2, but also with the fun of sports as well. While it has been awhile since we've seen Mario in action with sports, there is always room for a new sports title for the Wii. We've seen Mario pitch and strikeout in Mario Super Sluggers, and score goals like carzy in Mario Strikers Charegd a few years back, and now Mario and his team are bringing more than 1 sport on their way to the championships for the Wii. Mario Sports Mix for the Nintendo Wii delivers as a great compilation of games from shooting hoops in Basketball, the fierceness of Hockey, as well as 2 new Mario sports to master, extemely hard-hitting dodgeball, and spike his way to the top in Volleyball. The challenge is fun, and the gameplay is also thriving, as you master your way to the top of the leaderboard in each of the leagues from flower, mushroom, and the invincible star. The gameplay is fierce as you can choose from the classic Mario lineup of favorites including Mario, Bowser, Peach, Luigi and Yoshi to just name a few. There are a few unlockable characters to try and challenge as well including Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy, and Cactuar from the overshadowed Mario Hoops 3 On 3 (Nintendo DS,) as well as others to unveil. There are also great mini-games to enjoy as well including Feed Petey, where you have to try to shoot balls into Petey Piranha's mouth and try to score, as well as smash skate where you have to knock your opponents over the ledge with your hockey sticks as a extreme game of push & shove while avoiding huge chunks of ice. The graphics look good in the game, and the control takes a little bit to get used to in the volleyball & dodgeball games, but for those who've played hockey in Mario before (Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Winter Games,) it isn't a problem. What also makes the game fun is the multiplayer, as you can compete against other games online which is fun & entertaining, especially in the basketball games. The few disadvantages to the game is that I honestly was hoping for a few more games into the mix like Golf into the fun, and I also wish there could've been some more mini-games in each of the sports to enjoy and smash your opponents in. Still overall, with a huge lack of great games out there right now for the Wii, so many lackluster motion games for the Xbox 360 Kinnect & Playstation Move (PS3) and so much more focus has been coming up for Nintendo with the 3DS, there are still some great games to play with, and Mario Sports Mix is definitely one of those few that are worth the fun. Mario Sports Mix is definitely worth the game on your own, and with some of your friends too. I really recommend this game a whole lot. If there is one thing Nintendo still knows how to do, is make games that are fun, but keeping the motion right on target. Mario has always kept his hard hits in sports, and this is a sports title that shoots and mostly scores in each 3 point shot, and hat trick hockey goal for fun for every warp piped player in mind. We purchased this product, Mario Sports Mix, at Amazon.com shortly before Christmas for our niece and nephew, ages 8 and 7, at the suggestion of their mother who said they were eager to have this game. We haven't played it, so can't rate it, but the children thanked us profusely and seemed very pleased, so we rated it high. Sounded like a fun, interactive game appropriate for children their age. We were extremely impressed at the quality and speed of service we recieved from Amazon.com. Even within a week of Christmas, we recieved this item snail mail shipping, in 2 days. What a lifesaver for us.

Disappointed in this game after playing so many other fun games on our Wii. I expected more "stand-up" action, but this is one that can be played from the couch - so of course that's what the kids do! All the controls for the game are on the wii remote, and require virtually no movement - other than an occasional shake of the remote - to make things happen. I gave it three stars instead of two, though, because my 9-year-old son and his friends still really enjoy it. I, personally, would like to see more movement, as in other Wii games.

This game makes my 9 year old cry and my husband swear!! That is not fun for any of us!! My son was just playing dodgeball around the world, and had 2810 points. He lost one game and lost 140 points. That would be OK if he also won a appreciable amount of points when he wins. BUT, he only gets 5-6 points for winning a game!!!! It will take him a month, or more, to get those 140 points back if he kept winning every game. No wonder no one is playing around the world. My son thinks the games are great, but the player scoring is awful. When playing hocking, the computer goalie loses for them all the time.

This is a fab game! My 7 year old son chose it to spend his birthday money on, and from the moment it turned up (a few weeks ago now), he has loved it. It is such a lot of fun and even though there are only 4 sports, there are so many variations and thing to unlock, it never seems to get boring. My 11 year old also loves it, as do I. I would highly recommend this game.

Surprisingly good! My 5 year old just loves this game, which I expected to be just cashing in on the Mario name. It's proven to be a popular multiplayer game for the whole family and as a bonus has more than a few guest features borrowed from Final Fantasy. The controls are a bit simple and involves like many Wii games a lot of Wii controller waggling but it's quite intuitive hence the popularity with my child and his friends.
