Has anyone tried this on nylon fabric or paracord? To cut and melt the edge to avoid fraying?

Try using a torch to heat a thick butter knife until the end of the knife is cherry red, then use the knife to cut rope, works great!!

I want to cut foam rubber for reupholstery projects. Does this work?

I haven't tried it in foam rubber but my guess would be...yes it would work. I've used it to cut plastic.
