It keeps the scalp moist and the hair manageable for quite some time. Though I ordinarily use the "blue jar" Ultra Sheen, I had trouble finding it at one point so I had to use the Extra Dry Hair Conditioner (green jar) and I found this to be as effective as the blue jar. One thing I've noticed is that the "green jar" Ultra Sheen seems thinner (less thick) than the "blue jar" but that doesn't affect the quality of the product. They both work equally effectively.
