Review: Thin and reliable. - I have heard people complain about how flimsy book matches are. This is not a result of a poorly made product, but a downside to matchbooks in general as opposed to matchboxes. Matchbooks essentially have matches made of cardboard as a trade off to get a very thin and pocketable product. Lighting them is simply a matter of technique, I have never bent any. The only trouble I have had with these is that some of the heads "melted" and would not light after being carried in my pocket next to my leg while I was working on a warm day. The heads started soaking into the card backing. I'm not sure if this was caused by the heat or from the moisture or a combination of the two. To solve the problem with melting I take the staple out and remove half of the matches to make mine extra thin so I can slip them in my wallet.
